technology sheet

Why SOVRAN fungicide makes senseSOVRAN provides consistent control of some of the most

damaging diseases of apples, pears and grapes.

SOVRAN:

®

Excellent fruit protection.Broad-spectrum disease control with one rate.

Rapidly rainfast.

Unique SURFACE SYSTEMIC ACTIVITY™ insures

excellent coverage of developing fruit.

How to use SOVRAN

Apples & Pears:

Timing:

Apply two sequential applications of SOVRAN at fruit set on

a 10-14 day interval then rotate to a fungicide with an

alternative mode of action.

During rapid growth and high disease pressure, reduce the

interval to 7 days.

Do not apply more than 4 applications per season.

Rate:

Scab: Use 240 g/ha (97 g/acre) preventatively before

symptoms. Under severe disease risk up to 96-hours post

infection use the 360 g/ha (146 g/acre) rate A curative

application increases the risk of selecting for resistant

biotypes and should be used only as a last resort.

Powdery Mildew: Use 240-450 g/ha (97-182 g/acre)

preventatively before symptoms appear. Under severe

disease risk up to 96-hours post infection, use 450 g/ha

(182 g/acre).

Grapes:

Timing:

Apply two sequential applications of SOVRAN at from pre

– post bloom on a 10-14 day interval then make at least

two applications of a fungicide with an alternative mode of

action. Under low disease pressure, applications interval

may be increased to 21 days. During periods of very rapid

growth or high disease pressure, use the shortest

application interval.

Do not apply more than 4 applications per season.

How SOVRAN works

SOVRAN inhibits spore germination and mycelial growth as

well as sporulation of the fungus on the leaf surface.

SOVRAN’s high affinity for the waxy cuticle of plant tissue

and Surface-Systemic-Activity ensures SOVRAN

penetrates and covers the plant surface to provide

excellent protection of developing fruit.

Grape Disease Control

PrecautionsCherries: SOVRAN fungicide may cause injury to certain

sensitive cherry varieties such as Van, Sweetheart,

Chelan, Somerset, Valera Vandalay, Cavalier, Coral

Champagne, Angela Vista, Emperor Francis, Royalton,

Schmidt, Summit and Viva.

Asian Pears: SOVRAN fungicide may cause injury to

certain sensitive Asian pears of variety Olympic (Korean

Giant).

Use special care when applying SOVRAN fungicide to

prevent contact with these varieties and other non-target

plants. Thoroughly rinse spray equipment, including the

inside of the tank, hoses and nozzles after and before

using the same equipment in crops that are sensitive to

SOVRAN fungicide.
