INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FORSP32 / SP32 - EIT / SP32 - NS

SP63 / SP63 - EIT / SP63 - ES / SP63 - D

1. CARTON DETAILSThe unit is supplied in a carton. On receipt, please checkfor the following items :

a. Basic unit (3 poles) and a neutral pole.b. Front drive kitc. 4 nos. M3.5 x 16 mounting screws along with washers

and nuts in a polythene bag.d. 3 nos. M4 x 22 self tapping screws and template for door drilling in a polythene bag.e. For SP63-D, 4 nos. phase barriers are also supplied.

2. UNIT MOUNTINGMark the centre of operating shaft on the panel door basedon the hinge distance given in fig.1.

Paste the template (from outside the door) after aligningthe centre mark with the mark made in previous step.

Drill the holes on panel and panel door as in fig.1.

Mount the unit on the panel with 4 nos. M3.5 x 16 screws(supplied with the unit). Initially do not tighten the screwsfully. Check the alignment of the centre of the operatingshaft with the centre of Ø50 hole made on panel door forfixing the front drive. After making sure of the alignment,tighten the screws fully. Now, the appropriate fuse linkscan be mounted (ref. table 2)

For Din-rail mounting pull the din-rail clips (R & B poles)out, insert the unit onto 35 mm wide Dinrail & push theclips back.

In the case of SP32-NS & SP63-ES, remove the fuse coverand fuse holders ; locate the fuses in the fuse holders;insert the fuse holders along with fuses into the clips andfinally replace the cover. This is not applicable for somespecial SP32-NS / SP63-ES Switches which are not providedwith fuse holders.

For SP63-D click the phase barriers ( 4 Nos.) in the spaceprovided between the poles.

For ordering details of fuse links, refer table 2.

Always use GE POWER CONTROLS make fuse links only.

3. FRONT DRIVE MOUNTING

a. Insert front drive along with gasket (both supplied with theunit) in the Ø50 cut-out made on the panel door ( fig. 3).

b. Drive the three self tapping screws (supplied with the unit)from inside the panel door

c. See that handle is in "OFF" position

Note : Do not operate the Front drive before mounting.

4. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USEa. Use max. 25 sq. mm. direct flexible cable Cu/Al for main

and neutral connections.

b. Operate the handle in the direction shown in fig.3 forswitching ON and OFF.

c. The door interlock ensures that the door cannot beopened when the SDF or SD unit is in ON position.

d. However, with door interlock defeat facility (available af-ter knocking out a window on the side of front drive), anauthorised person can defeat the door interlock by push-ing the interlock defeat actuator up with a screw driver.This interlock has an auto-reset feature so that it neednot be re-defeated while closing the door later.

e. For padlocking the switch in OFF position, the padlockplate that projects out of the Handle is pulled down andupto 3 padlocks of max 6 mm shackle dia can be used.

f. Always use fuse cover for SP32-EIT / SP32-NS / SP63-EIT and SP63-ES .

g. Do not use wire fuse.

5. INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADD-ONACCESSORY KITS

a) SWITCHED NEUTRAL

Remove Isolable Neutral. InsertNeutral Shaft along with circlipwhich is supplied with the unitinto B pole Align Switchedneutral with B Pole, drive two M5x 20 screws onto it.

b) AUXILIARY KIT + solid n

Remove Isolable Neutral. AlignAuxiliary kit with B pole. AlignIsolable Neutral as in Figureand Fasten. Use Screws as perthe Note below.

c) SWITCHED NEUTRAL + AUXILIARY KIT

Insert Neutral Shaft alongwith circlip which is suppliedwith switched neutral into Bpole (as shown in a)

Align & insert Switchedneutral into the shaft
