--TARDY POLICY--

Tardies are for all periods, including

being late to school, and are counted

cumulatively. For example, if a student

is late to school twice, late to 2nd block

twice, and late to 4th block once, that

counts as 5 tardies and that student is

subject to consequences.

5 tardies Dean’s Detention (3:30-4:15)

6 tardies Dean’s Detention (3:30-4:15)

7 tardies Monday School (3:30-5:30)

8 tardies Monday School (3:30-5:30)

9+ tardies will be considered

insubordination and may result in an

out of school day suspension.

8/10/2021. As required by the Florida Department of Education, teacher Eva Knowles is currently teaching English, Language Arts or Reading as a Second Language (ESOL) strategies outside of their field of certification. Be assured that the teacher is fully certified by the state of Florida and is currently working on becoming certified in the area of ESOL.

Please be advised that Kendra Johnson is teaching out of field in the certification area English (6-12) for the school year 2021-2022. Mrs. Johnson meets all the requirements to teach in the public schools and is currently working towards certification in English (6-12) that is necessary. This notification is a Department of Education requirement for the State of Florida.

SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL

The SAC committee is in the process of electing new members. All meetings are open to guests. Meeting dates are Oct 20, Nov 17, Dec 15, Jan 19, Feb 16, March 23, April 20, May 18. Meetings are in the media center 3:45-4:45. It is important that we have a quorum at the Oct 20 meeting as we will vote on bylaws and the School Improvement Plan. Student votes are currently being finalized and then the committee will be announced. Students may vote at https://forms.gle/MHu8MhVftiGXiEBa9 through 10/2/21.

Federal Impact Forms

Impact forms are now due back to 4th

period teachers. Parents/ Guardians,

please complete the forms and return

them to school. The forms determine

Federal aid which supports the entire

community.

Girl’s Fall Ball is getting ready to kick off. The season is just around the corner! If you are interested in playing High School Softball, now is the time to join the fun. Contact Coach Candace at the school or Coach Donna at [email protected]

Boys’ high school basketball conditioning will continue every Monday, Tuesday

and Thursday morning at 7am. Students must have an updated athletic packet on

file to participate. Please see Coach Kenny [email protected]

with questions. Boys’ High school basketball tryouts will be on November 1st and

2nd from 3:45-5:30pm. Boys’ middle school basketball conditioning begins next

week, Thursday and Friday from 5:30-6:30pm. Boys’ middle school basketball

Packet (16 pages). Submitting a medical physical is not sufficient. Athletic Packets

MONDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2021

The Space Coast Swim Team attended the 2021 Florida Swimming Pool Association (FSPA) High School Invitational Meet this weekend in Stuart. Top high

schools from across the state competed in this state preliminary-finals meet. The women's 400 freestyle relay led by seniors Jodie Ramos and Brianna

Roberson and juniors Shelby Coursey and Elizabeth Cole broke the school record with a time of 4:00.84 and finishing 7th in the A-finals. The all-senior men's

team of Casey Cole, Kyle Hecky, Cole Vrbanic, and Shamar Washington broke the school record in the 200 medley relay going a 1:48.80 and qualifying for

the B-final. Brianna, Casey, and Elizabeth made the B-finals in their individual swimming events. Congratulation to these student athletes and wish them

luck as they prepare for Cape Coast Conference on October 8 and Districts on October 22.

The Space Coast varsity girls golf team will be

having senior night at The Great Outdoors golf course in their final home match of the season to

honor seniors Kayla Schooler and Kaitlyn Davis. Senior Night is on Monday October 4th,

tee off for the match is 4:00pm. Everyone is welcome to come out and watch the match vs.

Astronaut High.

Conditioning for Lady Viper Soccer is currently running from 3:45 to 4:45, Monday through Thursday. Must have an active athletic packet on file. See Coach Davis with any questions.

Boys Soccer Tryouts start October 18th -20th from 4-6pm. All athletes must have a valid Physical turned in to the Athletic Director. If you have any questions please see coach Garza or Coach Barry.

--DRESS CODE POLICY--

-Upper Garments-

-The cut of sleeveless garments must not expose undergarments or be otherwise

immodest.

-Strapless garments are prohibited. Straps of permitted garments must be a minimum of 1

1/2 inches in width. (Tube tops and halter tops are prohibited.)

-Necklines of all upper garments must be modest. -Low cut necklines are prohibited.

-Excessively large or baggy clothes, which may conceal dangerous items or be a safety

hazard, shall not be worn.

-Upper garments must adequately cover the waistline and must not expose the midriff

while the student is performing normal school-related activities (studying, retrieving

books, raising hands, etc.).

-No head coverings are to be worn while at school (i.e. hats, hoodies, beanies etc.)

-Lower Garments-

-Pants shall conform to the build and stature of the student, shall be worn at the waist,

and shall not extend below the heel of the shoe in length. Pants shall have no holes or

rips.

-Undergarments shall not be visible. (Sports bras are considered undergarments.)

-Dresses and skirts must reach mid-thigh or below in length with the waistband of skirts

worn at waist level.

-Shorts must have clearly discernible inseams of reasonable length and cover the

buttocks. Short shorts are prohibited.

-Garments must be of a length and fit that are suitable to the build and stature of the

student.

The USDA has extended Free Meals through June 2022. Breakfast and lunch meals will continue to be free for all students, regardless of status, through the end of the 2021-22 school year.
