DESCRIPTION

The School Physical Activity and Nutrition (SPAN-ET) Environment Tool (formerly known as the School Nutrition and Physical Activity (SNPA) Environment Assessment) is designed to assess the school nutrition and physical activity environment, and to measure change over time. The assessment includes areas of interest in two main categories, physical activity and nutrition, and considers the physical, situational, and policy environment within each category. For each area of interest, the evaluator will assess the specified criteria and assign a score according to the SPAN-ET Implementation and Readiness Scale.
