The following information will help you understand how toperform adjustments to the “ACTION” and “PIEZOBALANCE”. If you have any doubts of your ability to makethem, please consult a qualified Guitar technician.

ActionShims may be added or removed from under the EbonyBridge to adjust string action (height). Each color-codedshim will change the action measured at the 12th Fret by thisamount:

Use the fewest possible number of shims to raise or lower theaction to your liking.

Before removing the Bridge Attachment Screw ,be sure to loosen all strings completely.

When reinstalling the bridge and shim stack, make certainthat the pickup’s output wire is not pinched between thebridge and guitar. The bridge must sit flat in the guitar pocket.

The Truss Rod (14) is easily accessiblevia the hole located on the bottom sideof the headstock. To adjust the rod, usethe Torx wrench supplied with yourguitar. Turn it clockwise to tighten therod and counter-clockwise to loosen it.Be aware that the rod adjustment isvery sensitive - one sixth turn yields alot of movement.

Battery LightThe Battery Status Light (3) is located on the Back Plate(2) . When the battery is good, this red LED flashes for aninstant when the guitar is plugged in. When the battery is low,the light will glow continuously while plugged in. You thenhave approximately two hours of battery life left. Finally, adistorted output signal or a high-pitched whistle will serve asan audio reminder that the battery is dead.

If you choose another string set, or for some reason prefer tochange the string balance, please follow the instructionsbelow:

1 • Set the guitar Volume Knob (12)to maximum (fullyclockwise).

2 • Set both treble and bass tone adjustment knobs (13) totheir center detents.

3 • Access the Piezo Trim Pots (4) from the back of theguitar with the Back Plate (2) removed.

4 • Preset the piezo signal output levels by turning the sixPiezo Trim Pots (4) (small white pots) counter-clockwise to the "quietest" position.

5 • Play the guitar amplified and compare the relativeloudness of each of the six strings. They should bebalanced (playing at the same loudness). If not, thePiezo Trim Pots (4) must be adjusted.

Find the string with the strongest (loudest) signal andset its Trim Pot (4) counter-clockwise to the "quietest"position. Then boost the rest of the strings so theymatch the output level of the strongest string.

Leave headroom when setting the Trim Pots (4). Thispickup/pre-amp is powerful. The guitar can be setup hot, making it easier for the amp to clip (see the clip light atthe top of the amp's control panel in front). It shouldnever be necessary to set any pot higher than 50%.
