Textbooks
Students are responsible for the care and maintenance of their textbooks.
Textbook damages are assessed on all textbooks at the end of the school year.
Home set of textbooks will NOT possible this school year due to limited number of textbooks in the county.
Bus Information
Any request to ride a different bus or get off at a different bus stop must be requested in writing by the parent/guardian and submitted to the office for approval at least three days in advance and are only granted if there is room available on requested bus.
Mr. Ross will meet and greet your bus riding child a.m. and p.m. daily!
Student Discipline
Discipline policy is included in the student agenda.

Lockers and Backpacks
Students should not share locker combinations. Keep a copy of the combination at home.
Students are not allowed to share lockers. The lockers are not very deep. Backpacks are to be left in their lockers during
school hours. NO rolling backpacks. Locker shelves, pencil holders, magnets help
organize locker
Uniform Policy
The Baldwin County Public School uniform policy is strictly enforced

Student Arrival
Car riders are to be dropped off in the front of the gym (back of school). Enter via DeOlive Road
Bus riders will be dropped off on the side of the building and will enter through the side door of the gym.
Please do not drop off students at the front of SFMS. They cannot enter the building and will have to walk around the building to the gym.
Student Departure
Buses will load in the on the side of the building (same as drop off point in the a.m.).
Car riders will load in the front of the building in the afternoon.
– Teachers will be on duty to assist you.
– Please do not pick up your student in the student parking lot. This is a safety issue.
Attendance Guidelines
Students must bring a written excuse or doctor’s note within three days after an absence.
Excused absences are as follows: illness, inclement weather, legal quarantine, death in the family, religious holidays
Excuses can be faxed to:
626-7201. A follow-up call is recommended.
Tardy Students
Tardy students must be checked in through the front office.
Tardy students are required to bring a written note from a guardian stating the reason for being tardy. It should include a phone number for verification or a doctor’s excuse.
To Check a Student Out
The individual checking a student out must be listed on the student’s guardian/emergency contact list on the student’s gray information card.
The individual checking out a student must show picture ID at the front desk in the front office.

How to Contact TeachersFor Teacher Conferences
Teachers can be contacted by phone through the SFMS office, school counselor or by directly e-mailing the teacher.
Grade level teachers do not necessarily have the same planning period; therefore conferences may need to be set up before or after school hours.
Teacher E-mail
In order to e-mail a teacher you may do so through the school website. The SFMS website will link you directly to the teacher’s BCBE e-mail account. You will have an option to cc Mrs. Palumbo. Please do so if necessary. Communication is the key!
Communicate with School Staff
STI Home You may check your student’s academic progress on
the this site. You need an STI student number and STI pin number Students that attended BCPS last year will have the
same STI student number. The STI student number is also their lunch number and library number.
Everyone will have a new password – it changes annually.
Please allow adequate time for grades to be posted on the site.
Progress reports with D’s and F’s are mailed home mid-quarter and report cards are mailed home at the end of each quarter. Don’t rely on mailed report cards! STI gives you all of this information and more.
