OUTLINE

1. Project Description

Project purpose Vietnamese young people is dealing with a so –called disease named “FEAR”.

They are fearful of raising hands in class even when they know the answer, fearfulof speaking English to foreigners even when they have practiced hundreds oftimes beforehand, fearful of claiming their opinions against the crowd even whenthey know their opinions are right, fearful of telling others their dreams, fearful ofdoing something bizarre.

This project aims at create a gradual CHANGE to Vietnamese young people –

future leaders of Vietnam ’s behavior and habit regarding of expressing their

opinions, dreams and thoughts by engaging YOU – international young people

with positive mindset and great enthusiasm.

Your culture, your experience is a bullet. Your passion is a gun. We dare you toshoot any barriers preventing Vietnamese young people from speaking out loudtheir ideas and getting out of their comfort zone.

2. Measure of success

What we want to see atthe end of the project 10 interns will participate in this project.

80% students are more confident in expressing themselves (through our surveys).

80% students have clear progression in English, especially speaking skills.

Innovative ways of teaching are made up to diverse learning environment and stimulate the children.

90 of exchange participants will satisfy with their experiences in Vietnam, both in culture exchange and impact creation.

3. Job Description

Teaching English for junior students. Organize interesting games and indoor activitiesto help them understand the lessons. Interact with them to help them enhance notonly their English speaking skills but also their confidence in speaking English. Teachthem your country’s culture and exchange culture with students.

Organizing seminars, games and activities for junior students, high school anduniversity student at some other schools of Ho Chi Minh City and some workers.

Take part in other projects of AIESEC FTU HCM to get overall perspective of lives anddiversify your experiences in AIESEC such as join fundraising events with otherinterns from different projects, visit orphanage with other AIESECers.

Complete all AIESEC quality surveys during and after the internship. Send yourvideo/report of your work at the end of your last week in Vietnam to AIESEC FTUHCM.

3. Job Description

Get to know the project (working schedule, staffs, manager, workplace,intern’shouse and other interns) and the host .

Learn about Vietnamese culture and familiarize yourself with the city andthe people you are working to work with.

Meet AIESECers and join some events of LC to get to know AIESEC Prepare the contents, plans, and strategies for delivering the “Small

CHANGE” (for both 6 wks and 8wks interns) and “BIG CHANGE” (for 8wksinterns) to the students through the English lesson given by the host.

Make research on the current situation of the center; adjust the contents,plan and strategies; write a report on the situation and send it to Mr.Dang– OCP.IVP through email: dang.trinhhai@aiesec.net

3. Job Description

Start to implement the “Small CHANGE” as the same time as assistingother teacher of the center.

Main purpose of the week: Introduce the “Small CHANGE” to the students. Start to encourage students to talk

Start to write stories about the progress of their works and how theirstudents grow. Then, those stories have to be sent to Mr.Dang, andAIESEC will complie all the stories to create a story book name: “Stories of the Torches”

3. Job Description

Motivate the students to talk, sing in English in front of the crowd.

Do record on the students’ progress.

Create the environment for practicing by designing small challenges forthe students.

Keep on writing “Stories of the Torches”.

Design the super competition days for the 2nd half of the fifth week. (Thename of the competition is: “Time to shine!” the competition is the chancefor every student to shows his or her talents to everyone)

Showing the students their progress through 5 weeks of the project to tellthem that how wonderful they have become.

Sharing with other interns in the sharing day for the experience each ofyou have gained through this project, the memorable moments.

Motivate the students to believe in their dreams. Give them the passion to chase their dreams. Guide the students to take their first step for making a plan for their future

Write your ending stories for the time you do the project in Viet Nam Have fun.AIESEC will give you the Book “Stories of te torches” under the .pdf platform,your certificate for joining the project in Viet Nam as well as your award title foryour exceptional effort.Notes: All the stories for the Stories Book “Stories of the Torches” should be send to the email address: dang.trinhhai@aiesec.net with the title: [SOTT-Small/BIG] Story’s name (depending on the story is for the small or big CHANGE you will choose SOTT-Small or SOTT-BIG)
