Special DaySpecial Day for Special Children (SDSC) has
been enjoyed by children with special needs for
over fourteen years with each year becoming
highly anticipated and more exciting!
In 2013, Junior Chamber International Barbados
(JCI Barbados) celebrates fifteen years of hosting
this heartwarming event by seeking to achieve a
greater sense of purpose by concentrating on
increasing the level of awareness within our
society while allowing the children of the disabled
community to feel appreciated.

To achieve this we will be embarking on a
number of activities throughout the year and
will like to solicit your support in assisting us
with achieving our objectives.
SDSC: Objectives
Objectives:
• To execute a week of activities which will
climax with the fun-filled “Special Day for
Special Children” fun day for the
differently-abled children of Barbados.
• Create an environment where the “Special
Children” of Barbados can experience a
true sense of appreciation and by the same
token to generate public awareness for
Junior Chamber International Barbados
(JCI Barbados) and our sponsors.
• Develop an understanding of the differently-
abled to help promote acceptance and
inclusion in the wider community.
• Attract in excess of 300 children to
participate in “Special Day for Special
Children” fun day.
PROPOSED EVENTS / PROGRAMS:
• Special Day logo competition
• Special Day T-shirt design
competition
• Special Day for Special
Children – fun day to be held at
the grounds of Ilaro Court on
Saturday, 28 September
2013.
• Needs Assessment:- Research
will be based on finding out
what hurdles are being
encountered by disabled
children or specific needs that
are lacking and build
activities/programs around
these needs.

SDSC: PartnershipJCI Barbados is offering a variety of sponsorship packages which are targeted
towards creating opportunities for key supporters to (1) reinforce ties with a
vulnerable sector in our community and (2) be publicly recognized for their
contributions towards a worth cause.
Sponsorship options can be via cash sponsorship/donations or product /in-kind
donations.

JCI Barbados recognizes that every company may not be in a position to partner with
us for various reasons. In such cases, we invite you to be a “Cash Donor” or a
