The Westboro House of PizzaThe Westboro House of Pizza was started in 1970 by my parents, Paul and Lillian Economou, when they converted a flower shop on the first floor of a three-decker into a pizzeria. My brother Spyro and I later took it over and then built the brick building seen today.

They are gone now—Dad in 1993, Mom in 2012 and Spyro a year later. But the warmth they created in the little pizzeria is tangible in the spacious new restaurant-bar that has replaced it. The pride they took in the food they produced, based on home-tested recipes they brought with them when they came to America, is reflected in every dish served at Westboro House of Pizza every day by me and my family. — Fred Economou —
