A Tuesday morning

Bible study for women

Let us love one another ~ John 15:12

Our Bible Studies:Our prayer is that we provide you a place to grow in your knowledge of Christ, turning God’s word loose in your heart to change you in amazing ways. We desire to have an atmosphere where you can connect with other women; a place where we as women are regularly and consistently lifting each other up.

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” Ecclesiates 4:9-10

When: Tuesday mornings 9-11:15 September 18th - May 14th

Where: Lake Bible Church / Great Room

Questions: Contact Joy Roberts at [email protected] or call at 503-481-6898.

Below you will find a summary of prayerfully selected Bible study choices. We offer one Study for the first half of the year/Session 1 and you can choose between three options for the second half of the year/Session 2. Children’s Program offered both sessions. Register early!

Session One (Sept. 18th - Dec. 4th):

NehemiahAverage Weekly Study Time: 1-3 hours

Nehemiah, an ordinary man placed in unusual circumstances as the cupbearer to King Artexerxes; a man faithful to God in the midst of a pagan world. Join us in this study of grace, obedience, and trust as we explore his life and his calling to rebuild the walls of a desolate Jerusalem.

Session Two (Jan 8th - May 14th)

James - A Study of MercyA Beth Moore StudyAverage Weekly Study Time: 1-3 hours

Be inspired to put your faith into action in practical ways as you get to know both the man and the Book of James. In this interactive study we will explore such concepts as joy, hardship, faith, wisdom, single-mindedness, the tongue, humility, prayer and more. Join us in this walk of faith that will surely change our lives.

Feminine Appeal (Marriage Study)Teacher: Melinda SmithAverage Weekly Study Time: 1-3 hours

Carolyn Mahaney, the author of Feminine Appeal, identifies with the challenges facing women in today's world and meets them with the guidance of God's Word. The feminine virtues described in Titus 2 have transformed her life and the lives of countless other women. This book will show you the appeal of being a woman who lives for God and helps others do the same. Grow as a woman of character, wife, mother and friend.

Precepts by Kay Arthur: MatthewThe King and the Kingdom of HeavenChapters 1-13Teachers: Robin Forsyth and Marilyn DemingAverage Weekly Study Time: 2-3 hours

This amazing study brings you face to face with the long awaited Jewish Messiah, Jesus Christ. The gospel of Matthew establishes how Jesus alone fulfills all the Old Testament prophesies as the King who will sit on the throne of David. What is Christ’s kingdom? What is the heart and lifestyle like of those in His kingdom? In chapters 1-13 of Matthew, we will answer these questions and walk with Jesus as He explains His kingdom and the Kingdom of Heaven.

Our Bible Study:The desire of this delightful group of women is to be formed by God’s truth and grow in His Word together. While many have children that are grown with families of their own, their desire is to encourage women of all ages and stages of life to be a part of this study and grow in their relationship with Christ. Join us and glean from the wisdom these women share as they search out truths and applications of scripture.

When: 2nd week of every month Thursdays from 9:30-11:30am Where: Lake Bible Church / Room 224 (Women’s Ministry Room)

2018-19 Session (Sept. 13th - June 13th):

Ecclesiastes By Sue Edwards

Written by King Solomon, Ecclesiastes is a look at life from two perspectives: walking closely with God and what it looks like when distant and estranged from the Lord. We will search scripture to see what godly living looks like and why it is something to seek after, and what worldly living accomplishes and why it is foolish and to be avoided. Learn how to live wisely without the painful consequences that foolish decisions usually bring.
