A Heartfelt Thanks to Everyone!Dear Friends of St. Francis,

It was my privilege to be the chairperson of this year’s ‘Octoberfest’ celebration – in honor of our dear St. Francis – last October 4. I am proud and happy to say that it was overwhelmingly successful. My committee and I were pleasantly surprised with the attendance and support of our parishioners, as well as non-parishioners.

We enjoyed preparing for this event. For this, we thank you very much for your presence. It was a night of fun and camaraderie and of course, unli beer drinking. It was nice to see people mingling and meeting others – some for the first time – and hopefully starting new friendships.

It was indeed a celebration of fun and fellowship in the spirit of St. Francis. Again, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you, maraming salamat, muchas gracias, vielen Dank! CHEERS ST. FRANCIS!

Francisfest 2019: St. Francis of Assisi, the Troubadour!

Dear Fellow Paduans!

Being active in Parish life doesn’t necessarily mean we have to be uptight and serious at all times. We need time to relax, enjoy and have fellowships with our community.

Our Francisfest celebrations the past few years were very sophisticated – big production with multi-talented artists. This year, during our PPC meeting, we found out how Francisfest was celebrated a few years back — truly an Octoberfest!

Yes, this year’s Francisfest is a throwback to the past. Having an Octoberfest setting, with live band and bottomless beer, the Feast of St. Francis was celebrated with genuine community fellowship. The beer drinking contests were divided into the following categories: male, female, youth and even priests!

Yes, it was a night of thanksgiving! We give thanks to our Lord God. We give thanks to St. Francis (our main celebrant) and his gang (St. Anthony and St. Clare among others), and of course the Pastoral Team (headed by our Parish Priest, Fr. Reu Galoy) for bringing the Lord Jesus into our lives and for bringing us all together that night as one big happy family!

Since this year is the Year of the Youth, I would like to acknowledge the youth ministries for their participation in organization, food, drinks, and even entertainment. To all the ministries of our Parish, thank you always for your support and participation; a special mention to CCD, headed by Katty Qua, for their generous contribution for the event. To the sponsors of our live music – Edmund Lim and Willie Rodriguez; Mike Limpe, our mug sponsor, the Francisfest Committee, chaired by Entang Carballo for organizing the event, and of course our beer keg donors, Lita Ascalon, Bel Poe, Alice Guerrero and Tina Teehankee. On behalf of the PPC, I thank all our beloved parishioners, for making this year’s Francisfest a true celebration. May the Lord bless you and your families.
