GOAL AND OBJECTIVES Goal- Improve the oral health of the 4th and 5th
grade special needs students at Groves elementary through an educational program. Objective 1- Increase the dental health
knowledge of the students by 15% using the pre and post-test
Objective 2- Decrease plaque and oral debris by 15% using plaque score
Objective 3- Increase their oral health and skills by passing a toothbrush evaluation
Objective 4: Increase their knowledge of healthy foods by getting 50% correct matches on the nutrition game board

WEAKNESSES/RECOMMENDATIONS Time constraints
We ran over 15 minutes on lesson #2&4 while gathering plaque scores
Recommendation: Plan ahead for the extra time that is needed for dates when gathering plaque scores
Zero parental involvement A letter was sent out encouraging the parents
attendance and involvement in our program Recommendations: A phone call can be made
to each parent to make it more personable, we also can send a letter each time

CONCLUSION We feel that Groves Elementary will be a
good future site The life skills and adaptive behavior unit was
in need of an oral health program and will continue to be in need and benefit from oral health education
