The following marshmallow games are fun and exciting for children of all ages to

play. We do not recommend that children under the age six (6) participate in these

games.

Though we have never had an accident at Kids Blast, we realize that the potential for

an accident is there. Please remember that though these games are fun,

marshmallows can be a choking hazard and The Church at South Las Vegas, it’s

entities, members or employees are not responsible for the results of any hazards that

may take place.

You’ll love these games. Every weekend the

elementary kids of Kids Blast play at least one

marshmallow game and they love it! We are always

being asked two questions by the kids 1) what’s our next

marshmallow game going to be and 2) when are we

going to play it?

The great thing about marshmallow games is that they

are inexpensive and fun to play. Throughout this book,

we have made it easy for you to add some great fun to

your class. If you are a parent, you can even do some

of these at home with the entire family.

So, grab a bag of marshmallows and enjoy the

laughter!

Dream big,

Pastor Justyn

PAGE

Choose two teams of boys

versus girls and have them

stand behind the start line.

When you say, “Go!” the

first person from each

team has to push the

marshmallow across the

finish line using nothing but

their nose. Once they

cross the finish line, the

next teammate in line

does the same thing and

so on until everyone

crosses the finish line. The

first group to get their

entire team across the

finish line wins.

1 bag of marshmallows

1 roll of colored tape (i.e.

Blue Painters’ Tape)

Before the game begins

create a start line and finish

line using the tape. The

distance depends on the

size of room or stage and

age of children.

PAGE

This is a great game for small

group settings. Play it just

like you would “Hot Potato.”

Choose a student to control

the music player. Have that

person stand with their back

to the students forming the

circle so he/she cannot see

what’s going on.

When the group forming the

circle hears the music begin,

they have to pass the

marshmallow to their right

until the music stops. When

the music stops, whoever is

holding the marshmallow is

out.

Repeat this until there is only

one student left standing

without the marshmallow.

1 bag of marshmallows

Music player

No preparation needed.

PAGE

Choose two kids from each

team to hold the sides of the

Plexiglas sheets. Next, choose

a person from each team to

stand behind the Plexiglas

facing the audience. Grab

several marshmallows, cut

them in half with your fingers

and firmly press the sticky side

of the marshmallows against

the Plexiglas so they are stuck

(each Plexiglas sheet should

have equal amounts) and

explain the following: When

you say, “Go!” the students

standing behind the Plexiglas

have to get on their knees and

eat the marshmallows right off

the Plexiglas. The first team to

eat all the marshmallows

without them falling on the

ground wins.

1 bag of marshmallows

2 Plexiglas sheets (any

large clear plastic/glass

would work)

Before the game begins

wipe down the Plexiglas

sheets with hot, soapy

water. Do not use any

special cleaners (i.e.

Windex) because students

will be putting their mouths

on the Plexiglas.

PAGE

This game can be used to

stall for time, as a

“bumper” or just for fun.

While the kids are sitting in

their chairs, call on one to

stand up and see if they

can catch a marshmallow

in their mouth. You can

repeat this as much as

desired. Kids and leaders

love it!

1 bag of marshmallows

No preparation needed.

PAGE

Choose two teams of boys

versus girls and have them

stand behind the start line.

When you say, “Go!” the first

person from each team has to

eat half a marshmallow then

place the other half against

their forehead (sticky side of

course) and walk across the

f ini sh l ine without the

marshmallow falling off. If the

marshmallow does fall off, that

person will have to go back to

the start line and do the

process over until they cross the

finish line with the marshmallow

still on their forehead.

Once they cross the finish line,

the next teammate in line does

the same thing and so on until

everyone crosses the finish line.

The first group to get their entire

team across the finish line wins.

1 bag of marshmallows

1 roll of colored tape (i.e.

Blue Painters’ Tape)

Before the game begins

create a start line and finish

line using the tape. The

distance depends on the

size of room or stage and

age of children.

PAGE

The object of this game is

to stack the tallest tower

(not a pyramid) straight

up using nothing but

marshmallows. When you

say “Go!” each team will

have 30 seconds to stack

the tallest tower (cannot

do pyramid style).

Whichever team has the

tallest tower after 30

seconds wins. This game is

fun to repeat over and

over.

2 bags of marshmallows

2 tables

Set up two tables in front of

the class with one bag of

marshmallows on each

table.

PAGE

The object of this game is

to build the tallest pyramid

(not a straight tower) using

nothing but marshmallows.

When you say “Go!” each

team will have 30 seconds

to build the tallest

pyramid. Whichever team

has the tallest pyramid

after 30 seconds wins.

Remember, it’s the height

of the pyramid that

determines the winner—

n o t h o w m a n y

marshmallows they use.

This game is fun to repeat

over and over.

4 bags of marshmallows

2 tables

Set up two tables in front of

the class with two bags of

marshmallows on each

table.

PAGE

Choose as many participants

as desired. The object of the

game is to squeeze as many

marshmallows in your mouth

as possible while still being

able to clearly state the

memory verse. Start off by

having the kids place one

marshmallow in their mouth

and then have them say the

verse. If they say it clearly,

they move on; if they do not

say it clearly, they are out of

the game. Keep adding a

marshmallow and have them

repeat the verse until you are

left with the last person

standing. The person who is

able to say the verse with the

most marshmallows in his/her

mouth is the winner.

2 bags of marshmallows

No Preparation needed.

PAGE

Choose one boy and one

girl to compete and

explain that the object of

this game is to be the first

person to build a person

using only marshmallows

and toothpicks. Whoever

creates a person (person

means it has a body, two

arms and legs and a

head) first is the winner!

1 bag of marshmallows

1 box of toothpicks

2 tables

Before the game begins,

p l a c e s e v e r a l

m a r s h m a l l o w s a n d

toothpicks on each table.

PAGE

The object of this game is

to be the first team to find

a marshmallow. This is

much harder than you

th ink because the

packing peanuts are

white and soft just like the

marshmallows.

Choose two boys and girls

and when you say “Go!”

they will have 60 seconds

to f i nd as many

marshmallows as possible.

The team with the most

marshmallows at the end

of 60 seconds is the

winner.

1 bag of marshmallows

2 bags of packing

peanuts

2 inflatable kid’s pool

Before the game begins

open the bags of packing

peanuts and place several

marshmallows inside. This

can be done in front of the

kids or before service

begins.

Place 1 bag of packing

p e a n u t s w i t h t h e

marshmallows already

inside in each pool.

The pool is used as a way

to contain the mess.

PAGE

Choose as many kids as

you would like. The object

of the game is to knock

d ow n a l l o f th e

marshmallows using only

two balls. Whoever is

successful in knocking

d ow n a l l o f th e

marshmallows is the

winner. You can have

several winners in this

game.

1 bag of marshmallows

2 small balls (i.e. sponge

or play pit balls)

1 table

Before the game begins

stack 10 marshmallows up

like a pyramid on a table.

PAGE

The object of this game is

to launch as many

marshmallows as possible

into the trash can.

Choose two teams (i.e.

boys versus girls) to

compete. When you say,

“Go!” the teams will have

30 seconds to launch as

many marshmallows as

possible into the trash can.

Whoever has the most in

the trash can wins. If no

team was able to launch

the marshmallows into the

trash cans then the team

w i t h t h e c l o s e s t

marshmallow to the trash

can wins.

1 bag of marshmallows

2 water balloon launcher

slingshots

2 plastic garbage cans

You can also make a water

balloon launcher slingshot

by tying two long strands of

latex rubber tubing to the

sides of an oil funnel.

Setup the trash cans a

good distance from where

the kids will launch the

marshmallows.

PAGE

Choose several kids to

participate. Explain that when

you bounce the ball they have

to put a marshmallow in their

mouth. If they can put the

marshmallow in their mouth

before the ball hits the ground

they go to the next round.

When you bounce the ball for

round two, they have to put

two marshmallows in their

mouth before the ball hits the

ground...round three—three

marshmallows...round four—

four marshmallows and so forth.

The winner is the person who

c a n p u t t h e m o s t

marshmallows in their mouth

before the ball hits the ground.

After each round, the

participants must spit the

marshmallows out in the trash

can.

4-5 bags of marshmallows

1 medium-size bouncy

ball

2 trash cans.

No preparation needed.

PAGE

Chose two teams of three

(boys versus girls). Have

two people on each team

hold a piece of Plexiglas

and have them stand

behind one of the pieces

of tape. Explain to the

remaining two contestants

that they have 30 seconds

to bite off the sides of the

marshmallows so it’s sticky

and then throw it at their

team’s Plexiglas. The first

team who’s marshmallow

sticks for at least five

seconds is the winner.

1 bag of marshmallows

2 Plexiglas sheets

1 roll of tape

Before the game begins

place two pieces of tape

on the stage/floor about 20

feet apart.

PAGE

Choose two contestants

and explain that their job

is to write out the

alphabet using nothing

but a marshmallow. They

do this by licking the

marshmallow and then

using it like a paint brush.

The first person to write out

the alphabet is the winner.

1 bag of marshmallows

2 Plexiglas sheets

1 table

Place the Plexiglas sheets

on the table in front of the

class.

PAGE

Choose two contestants.

Explain that the object of

the game is to eat the

smore using only their

mouth—and they’ re

blindfolded. Have each

contestant stand behind

the table facing the

crowd. Have them place

their hands in their back

pockets and then

blindfold them. When you

say, “Go!” they will have

two minutes to eat as

much of the smore as

possible. Whoever eats

the most or all of it first is

the winner.

1 bag of marshmallows

2 chocolate bars

1 box of graham crackers

2 tables

2 blindfolds

Before the game begins

prepare a smore on each

table. Prepare the smore

by placing a graham

cracker on the table, on

top of that place a

chocolate bar, on top of

that place a marshmallow

and on top of that place

another graham cracker.

PAGE

C h o o s e a n y t w o

contestants (it’s always

fun to have girls compete

against the boys). Explain

t h a t u s i n g t h e

marshmallow shooter they

have to try to knock down

their target. Have them

compete until the target

falls down or have other

contestants come up to

try to knock it down.

Whoever knocks down the

target is the winner.

1 bag of miniature

marshmallows

2 targets

2 marshmallow shooters*

1 table

Place the two targets on

the table facing the

shooters.

*Instructions on how to

make a marshmallow

shooter can be found on

pages 22-23.

PAGE

Choose one boy and one

girl to compete. Explain

that when you say, “Go!”

they will have 30 seconds

t o r i p a p a r t a

marshmallow into as many

pieces as possible.

The person who has the

most pieces at the end of

30 seconds is the winner.

This is a fun game to re-

peat.

1 bag of marshmallows

2 tables

No preparation needed.

PAGE

The numbers are at the end of each piece, or in the

joints, at one side or the other.

Slide piece 1 into piece 2

Connect piece 2 to piece 3

Find piece 4 and connect that with piece 3 so

that the empty hole in the “T” faces up and the

empty hole in the elbow points down

Slide piece 5 into piece 4. You are nearly done!

Place piece 6 (the cap) onto piece 5

Now you have the main part complete.

Place piece 7 into the top of piece 2 (the “T”)

Piece 8 fits right onto piece 7 so the remaining

hole faces piece 4

Now stick piece 9 into piece 8

Final step: stick piece 10 onto piece 9
