will be open to members only from 10:00 am—7:00 pm on Thursday, July 30th. If you want to be one of the first in
the doors be sure to stop by the library bookstore any day of the week to become a member. The sale will be open
to the public, Friday, July 31st from 10:00 am –5:00 pm and Saturday, August 1st from 9:00 am-5:00 pm. Don’t miss
this opportunity to find tons and tons of treasures! We will have everything on sale from romance, mystery, books
for children's and young adults, plus history and biographies. This is the 18th book sale conducted by the Friends
since 1998. Money raised helps to support a wide range of library programs and to purchase materials. A follow-up
Brown Bag Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 24th. Mark your calendars.
Volunteers will assist by helping set-up for the book sale, serve as Cashiers, Greeters, Food Supervisor and Check-
out Helpers. Current volunteers may sign up using their username and password through the online volunteer por-
tal or by logging in on the volunteer sign-in computer on the first floor of the Columbus Public Library. For those
who are interested in joining our volunteer team follow the link Muscogee County Friends of Libraries Book Sale to
complete an online application.
Thank You!
I am so thankful to work in one of the best places in the world! Why, because of the endless opportunities to learn
anything you can ever imagine. The staff and volunteers are not only creative and talented but they are loving, kind
hearted and have left footprints in my heart. Thank you for your love and support throughout the years.

3rd Annual Columbus Children’s Book Festival
On Saturday, September 19, 2015, some of the most beloved children's authors and illustrators will be taking
over the front lawn of the Columbus Public Library. Children will meet their favorite author or illustrator, listen
to author presentations, have a book autographed, or just have the opportunity to talk to them about their inspi-
rations. Volunteers will provide assistance in our Craft-O-Mania station, Entertainment Tent, Jump Houses, Sim-
ple Steps Garden and more. Check out our 2015 VOLUNTEER PACKET to learn about each book festival volun-
teer description. Volunteers must be 14 years or older to participate in both opportunities. If you enjoy working
with children follow the link 3rd Annual Columbus Children's Book Festival to complete an online application.
We hope to see you there!

IMAGE: Imagine Making a Girl Empowered April 25, 2015 A special thank you to Ms. Syndey Brasseuex for a marvelous job of putting the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries 2nd girl empowerment
program together. You invested a lot of time, energy, creativity and most importantly you shared a part of yourself. We are truly thank-
ful to have such dedicated volunteers like yourself. Below are a few pictures from the IMAGE program that took place on April 25th.
There were activity stations from hair care, facials, charm bracelets and more.
Thank you Mrs. Kimberly Durham for being our guest speaker for the day. We appreciate you taking the time to leave footprints in our
hearts. Thank you for sharing the motivational tips below! Take a look at more pictures from the event by following the link. You may
also check out pictures from our first IMAGE program held in 2013. Enjoy!
Focus on accomplishments that have to do with who you are as a person, not what you look like.
Each day, say one thing you like about yourself.
Do things that make you happy.
Surround yourself with people who support you and make you feel good about yourself.
Love yourself the way you are right now, not for what or who you could be.
You don’t need validation from anyone else to feel good about yourself.
