The creation of this module is an effort of competent trainers from Bitoon National
Vocational High School of the Department of Education-Cebu Province during this pandemic
period. In addition, this module is meticulously planned, organized, checked, and verified by
knowledgeable educators to assist you in imparting the lessons to the learners while
considering the physical, social, and economic restraints in the teaching process.
The use of the Teacher-made Educational Module aims to surpass the challenges of
teaching in a new normal education set-up. Through this module, the students are given
independent learning activities, which embodies in the Most Essential Learning Competencies
based on the K-12 Curriculum Competencies, to work on in accordance with their capability,
efficiency, and time. Thus, helping the learners acquire the prerequisite 21st Century skills
needed with an emphasis on utmost effort in considering the whole wellbeing of the learners.
As the main source of learning, it is your top priority to explain clearly how to use this
module to the learners. While using this module, learner’s progress and development should
be recorded verbatim to assess their strengths and weaknesses while doing the activities
presented independently in the safety of their homes. Moreover, you are anticipated to

Beauty Care (Nail Care) Services has four services namely: Manicure, Pedicure,
Hand Spa and Foot Spa. Before we proceed to the next level of activities, let us find out first
if you have concepts about the services in Beauty Care.

Based on the pictures, we can see that hand spa and manicure focuses on hands and
arms while pedicure and foot spa focus on the feet. Hand Spa is a treatment done to replenish,
restore and rejuvenate naturally tired hands. Manicure a cosmetic treatment of the hands
involving cutting, shaping, and often painting of the nails, removal of the cuticles, and softening
of the skin. Foot Spa is a treatment that may include a foot bath, foot massage, moisturizers,
exfoliation, acupressure, improve reflexology, and pedicure. Pedicure is a treatment for the
feet that involves cutting and sometimes painting the nails and softening or massaging the
skin.
These services cannot be done without the pre-existing tools, materials, and
equipment. What are tools? What are materials? What is Equipment? All these things will be
learned in our next activity.
