Environmental SciencesEnvironmental sciences deal with human, animal and plant resources and researches the reciprocal depen-dencies between man, human culture / civilization, and animate and inanimate nature. The discipline Environ-mental Sciences on the Institute of Evolutionary Bio-logy and Environmental Sciences is specialized in in-terdisciplinary research of biodiversity.
CareerThanks to their wide-ranging education, good oppor-tunities in various fields are open to graduates of the MSc program in Environmental Sciences. This is par-ticularly true when team work and interdisciplinary collaboration are required for the position. Further-more the MSc in Environmental Sciences is a professi-onal qualification for academic jobs in environmental sciences. The Masters degree serves as a basis for a dissertation.

Education goalsThe specialized Master’s degree program provides stu-dents with an in-depth scientific education and the skills needed to carry out independent scientific work. The incorporation of various subject-specific skills in an interdisciplinary «class» results in synergies for joint projects. This specifically promotes the ability to work as part of a team.
AdmissionStudents with a bachelor’s degree from a Swiss univer-sity or equivalent, sufficient knowledge in natural scien-ces and, preferably, attendance of courses in environ-mental sciences during bachelor education can apply.
