Certifications and Training Courses and Programs: Quality SHSM programs have a blend of community and school based delivery to ensure students have exposure to experts in this sector. Most of the certifications will be delivered in the grade 12. The exception will be the CICSCO certification which will be delivered in grade 11. The WHMIS certification will be delivered through the Coop program.

Compulsory WHMIS online Standard First Aid - CPR C - AED

Electives Health and Safety - Basic (Should be part of general certification as it is a requirement in many companies that employees have Health and Safety training) Photography - Given to students who are interested in Photography or Desktop publishing fields. Software: Desktop Publishing - Use of Photoshop and Illustrator which are to industry standard software used in Desktop Publishing Software: Animation - Autodesk certification for the students interested in the 3D animation field. Software: Video Production - Adobe Premiere certification for students interested in video production. Programming - Microsoft or Oracle certifications for students interested in the computer programming field. CISCO networking - This will be offered as part of the course by the Computer Engineering teacher. Some of those certifications and training would be offered by industry partners. Others by teachers and outside sources or online.

Industry/Business/Community Partnerships: It is expected that these partners will sit on your sector-specific advisory teams and provide experiential learning opportunities for students (co-op, job-shadowing etc.).
