History of McCrory Engineering

Mc Crory Engineering is celebrating twenty years ofengineering this year. Since our foundation in 1990, acombination of personal and efficient service and our abilityto interpret our customers' requirements has enabledMcCrory Engineering to reach our current status as one ofthe UK's leading static batching plant manufacturers.

The idea of modular construction of planthas been used successfully by most plantmanufacturers in different forms over theyears. However, we have taken modularconstruction to a new level byincorporating our Plug & Play system.After successful trials we now intend tocompletely pre-build every batching plantproduced at our Tyrone factory. During thispre-build all internal equipment andplumbing will be installed and the Plug &Play electrics will be fitted. On completionof the pre-build our customer will beinvited to inspect their plant at our factoryand given the opportunity to actually walkaround and access all areas of their plantprior to the installation on their site.

After the customer’s inspection the plantwill be de-constructed into its modules,each module complete with its own

components, plumbing and electrics. Theycan then be loaded onto trailers andtransported to the site, lifted off, erected,plugged up and be operational in minimaltime.

In the most recent case a MCE 60M PHModular Concrete Batching Plant withPlug and Play fast fit system wascompletely installed on site in threedays and in full production in just sixdays. The Plug & Play system gives usthe unique ability to offer our customersan extremely well engineered, highoutput concrete batching plant withoutthe headaches of a prolonged major siteproject.

We believe that in the very near futurewe will be able to offer our customerseven more flexibility through thedevelopment of our Plug & Playinterchangeable modules. Despite difficult trading conditionsgenerally that have led many in theIndustry to hold back on capitalexpenditure, Marshalls continue theirsupport for Premier Mortars with theopening of their new plant inGateshead.

Managing Director Nick Bebbwas presented with a ‘PlantHandover’ Certificate fromSeamus McCrory of McCroryEngineering who are based inNorthern Ireland and supplyconcrete and mortar plantsworldwide.

It is the third time PremierMortars have bought from

McCrory following theirsuccessful quality plantinstallations in Wolverhamptonand Stockton on Tees.

To celebrate the occasion PremierMortars held an open day formembers of the construction industry.

Mc Crory’s bespoke concrete batchingplants are tailored to each individualcustomer requirement. Each plant isuniquely designed using standardmodular components that have beentried and tested over many years.Bespoke plants have been supplied forthe UK, Ireland, and Europe and havebeen supplied for production of: blocks,multi-colour block-paving, precast,readymix and sometimes combinationsof some or all of these. With bespokeplant we offer a turnkey service whichincludes design, manufacture, delivery,installation and commission on site.

As the plant is being tailor made for thecustomer, the sales and technical teamwill work with the customer to accesstheir requirements and produce a sitelayout drawing and specification to

meet the customer’s requirements,working within site or locationrestrictions.

proposals and will discuss andimplement any changes in the planbefore work commences.Every detail and every document willbe reviewed by our team of appointedpersons to ensure we have covered alleventualities. The final document willnot be produced until we arecompletely satisfied that we have asafe procedure in place.On the day of the job every team memberwill receive an on site briefing beforework commences to ensure they knowexactly what part they will play in theoperation.
