After trees were shaken but before windrows were made, one 3 ft x 3 ft square of nuts was removed from the North and South side of 3 different trees from each variety of each row.

SUMMARY: Post-bloom nut set counts indicated more nuts were set by both N-Boron and B-Moly on the variety Butte. However, nut set estimates were all about equal on the variety Padre. Harvest samples had more nuts in both Brandt treatments for the Butte variety, but fewer in the Padre variety relative to Solubor. Solubor also had larger nuts in both varieties.

SUMMARY: Manni-Plex B-Moly increased nut set of Chandler Walnuts when applied at female flowering stage relative to Solubor at the same timing. N-Boron had approximately the same number of nuts and Solubor. All treatments had similar nut sizes.
