Introduction

Van Mannekus & Co. B.V. is a well established processor

and trader of Magnesium Oxide products. Whilst

retaining the existing traditional products Van Mannekus

has introduced a new range of high quality Magnesia

products for specialty markets. The premises of the

company cover 25.000 m2 and are located in the port of

Rotterdam providing excellent logistic services to

destinations around the world. Van Mannekus is jointly

owned by Possehl Erzkontor and Grecian Magnesite.

Combined Strengths

Possehl Erzkontor GmbH is part of the Possehl Group with

worldwide industrial and trading activities. Possehl

Erzkontor GmbH is specialized in international trade of

a wide range of industrial minerals for the refractory,

foundry, metallurgical, plastics and other industries.

Grecian Magnesite SA is Europe’s leading producer and

supplier of caustic calcined Magnesia dedicated to a wide

range of industries. The company produces high grade

natural Magnesium Oxides and Carbonates for various

applications.

Van Mannekus is the sole distributor for SMA Magnesia AS

milled products. SMA is Europe’s largest producer of

synthetic caustic Magnesia. Their Purmag range of

Magnesium Oxides is perfectly suitable for the rubber &

plastic processing industry and as a Magnesia source in

various chemical applications.

Van Mannekus is the sole distributor for Ecopiren, a range

of micronized Magnesium Hydroxides of natural origin

(Brucite) produced by Russian Mining Chemical Company.

Ecopiren is especially suitable as flame retardant in

thermoplastic and elastomer polymer compounds and can

also be used as a functional filler in paints and resins.

The Purmag range Magnesium Oxides are suitable for the

rubber & plastic processing industry as anti-scorching/

curing agents, acid acceptors and stabilizers. They can

also be used as thickening agents in fibre-reinforced

polyester compounds ( SMC/BMC) and as a Magnesia

source in various chemical applications. The Purmag range

is available in various activities (ssa 30 - 200 m2/gr)

GM 98 LF – AK 98 MR | HR

GM 98 LF and AK 98 are very white natural Magnesium

Oxides with exceptional low iron content (0,03%). Both

are suitable for special chemical, food and feed appli-

cations. These grades can be produced with customer

specific activities.

Distribution Network

Ecopiren 1.5 | 3.5

Ecopiren is a natural based Brucite suitable as flame

retardant in PVC, PP and PE compounds. The Ecopiren

is available from an average particle size of 1.5 to 10

Microns (d50) and as coated (stearic acid) and uncoated.

ManMag HP MH / PurMag MH

ManMag HP MH is a high purity Magnesium Hydroxide

especially suitable for chemical processes where low

residual heavy metals are required (for example catalyst

manufacturing). Purmag MH is a technical Magnesium

Hydroxide suitable for flue gas additives, foliar feed sprays

and specialty feed applications.
