    1 Rules and Regulations

    regulations of the latest issue.

    manufactured in accordance with the maker's option.

    2 Installation

      ∙Both Diesel Engine and A.C Alternator shall be coupled directly with dry disc

    coupling and are flexibly installed on a common bed which is made of

    prefabricated / welded steel structure.

      ∙The diesel Gen set is to be rigidly installed on the vessel's structure of floor

    foundation.

    3 Language and Unit

      ∙Name plates, gauges, documents and drawings are to be written in English.

      ∙All units are to be in metric system as far as practicable.

    Recommended Coolant Specification

    Doosan Diesel engine require a" Heavy Duty Coolant" which is defined as a

    correct mixture of good quality water and antifreeze and supplemental

    coolant additives(SCA's)

    1. Water

      Good quality water is important for cooling system performance.

      Excessive levels of calcium and magnesium contribute to scaling problems,

      and excessive levels of chloride and sulfates cause cooling system corrosion.

      Calcium and Magnesium(Hardness) Maximum 170 ppm as (CaCO3 +MgCO3)

      Chloride 40 ppm as (Cl)

      Sulfur 100 ppm zs (SO4)

    2. Anti freezer

      Fully formulated antifreeze must be mixed with quality water at a 50:50 ratio.

      this mixture of antifreeze and water gives a -36℃ freezing point and

    108℃ boiling point,

    The lowest freezing point of ethylene glycol antifreeze(-73℃) is obtained at 68%.

      Using higher concentrations of antifreeze will raise the freezing point ofthe solution and increase the possibility of a silicate gel problem
