General Introduction
Specifications
Eaton’s JPVB series of open circuit axial piston pumps are designed for high efficiency, accurate control and low noise. Currently available in an 112cc displacement Back to Back layout, the JPVB is rated for 350bar and incorporates control features such as Negative Flow Control, total horsepower control and variable horsepower control. Well suited to enable the critical control and productivity requirements of excavators in 20 to 25 ton operating range this offering has the flexibility to be configured in a Positive Flow Control arrangement for alternative excavator models or other applications that require a product that delivers great value and power in an industry standard envelope. Application Guidance
Mounting Direction and Case Drain Piping• The pump should be mounted in horizontal direction.• The pump should be install in such a way that case drain is
on side or top. The uppermost drain port should be used for piping.
• The case drain pipe size should be equal or larger to pump drain port size.
Filtration• Install a 10µm filter in return line and 80 to 150 mesh strainer
in suction lines to ensure hydraulic oil cleanliness level of ISO 4406 20/18/15 (NAS 1638 Class 9).
Fluid
Connection of Driving Shaft• Use a flexible coupling for connection of the pump drive shaft
with an engine flywheel or an electric motor shaft.• There should be no axial and radial loads on the drive shaft.• The shaft to coupling alignment should be parallel within
± 0.03 mm (± 0.0012 inches).
Starting• Use case drain connection to fill the pump with hydraulic oil
before operating the pump.
Case Drain pressure• Maximum allowable continuous case pressure is 1 bar and
Maximum allowable peak case pressure is 4 bar.
