A RESCUE

APPARATUS

INTENT

As per the specifications provided, each manufacturer is invited to submit pricing and delivery for one (1)

Rescue Apparatus.

Bidders shall reply to the specifications on the forms supplied.

All items in these specifications must be answered indicating compliance or noncompliance. Bidders shall state

“Yes” for compliance or state the deviation. Information relating to the deviation may accompany this

document including a separate cover letter and shall state the page and section for ease of reference.

The specifications shall be answered on the forms provided or the bid will be disqualified. Each bidder shall

submit a set of specifications outlining the exact vehicle proposed.

Other bid forms or the submission of alternates, not detailed in the specifications, shall be cause for

disqualification.

It is the intent that the specifications clearly identify the furnishing and delivery of a complete Rescue

Apparatus as specified.

Bids submitted will be reviewed and evaluated based on qualifications, bonding, quality programs,

irregularities, delivery and price.

The purchaser shall be the sole determining organization as to the award of the bid, and the lowest price may

not necessarily be accepted. PRICING

Delivery of the completed vehicle shall be F.O.B. South Frontenac Fire Department within 300 to 330 calendar

days after the acceptance of the order dependant on chassis delivery.

Note: Pricing provided shall be held firm for a maximum of thirty (30) calendar days. TENDER EVALUATION

This Tender will be evaluated on a points system based on the documents submitted with this Tender. Failure to

submit requested documents may result in your Tender being rejected or 0 points being assigned. Evaluation of

points being received in each section is at the discretion of the Tendering Fire Department.

DELIVERY AND ORIENTATION

An authorized representative of the manufacturer shall deliver the completed vehicle to the purchaser.

Upon delivery of the completed vehicle, one (1) day of orientation shall be provided. This orientation shall be

performed by a qualified delivery representative of the manufacturer. Y___N___

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PAYMENT

The chassis shall be paid in full when it is received at the apparatus manufacturer’s facilities.

The balance of payment shall be paid upon completion and delivery acceptance. Y___N___

SERVICE REQUIREMENTS

The bidder shall provide a "24 Hour", "7-Day Per Week" emergency parts and service toll free telephone

number. This phone number must be listed on a separate statement included in the bid package, along with the

contact name, business name, address, and phone number of the local service agency, which will service the

vehicle after being placed into service.

The service agency shall be capable to perform all required service work, and shall also have at their disposal

the ability to have any required subcontracting work, such as engine, transmission, etc. work performed on

behalf of the apparatus manufacturer. Y___N___

REQUIREMENTS OF THE APPARATUS MANUFACTURER

The manufacturer of the apparatus must be fully owned and managed by a Parent Company, Corporation,

Partnership, or that is a company 100% held in North America.

All chassis, pumps and major components must be manufactured in North America and must be able to supply

parts for an emergency vehicle within 48 hours.

Proposals from any manufacturer that is fully or partially owned and/or operated by a Foreign Company,

Corporation, Partnership, or that is a company under any type of ownership partnership, or any similar type of

agreement will be rejected immediately and their bid disqualified. Y___N___

ENGINEERING DRAWINGS

Engineering drawings shall be submitted to the purchaser prior to commencement of the manufacturing process.

These drawings shall show at a minimum the left, right, rear, and top views of the vehicle, as it will look at the

time of completion.

A copy of these drawings shall be signed and returned to the apparatus manufacturer and become part of the

vehicle contract. Y___N___

BODY MANUAL - CD

One (1) compact disc manual(s) shall be provided on operation of the complete apparatus. The CD manual(s)

shall include a troubleshooting guide complete with a, recommended daily, weekly and annual maintenance

procedures.

The apparatus manufacturer shall supply a complete wiring diagram for the color-coded wiring harness. Y___N___

CHASSIS PREPARATION

The chassis shall be carefully inspected for compliance to the required specifications and to assure that it is

ready for apparatus construction.

Any components that require relocation or modification shall be done at this time. Y___N___

EXHAUST SYSTEM

The Chassis Exhaust System shall be modified and routed to the right hand side of the apparatus ahead of the

rear wheels. The exhaust tail pipe shall have a flush end (no droop) and have a gap of at least 3" below the body framework

to hook an auto disconnect exhaust system to the exhaust tail pipe. Y___N___

EXHAUST SYSTEM HEAT SHIELD

Where the chassis exhaust piping passes under or near a body compartment, the exhaust piping shall be shielded

to prevent compartment exposure to radiant heat. Y___N___

CHASSIS WHEELS

The chassis wheels shall be an aluminum polished finish from the chassis supplier. Y___N___

CHROME HUB AND LUG NUT COVERS

The front wheels shall be fitted with chrome baby moon type hub covers.

The rear wheels shall be fitted with chromed "Top Hat" type hub covers.

All front and rear wheel lug nuts shall have chrome lug nut covers installed. Y___N___

FRONT AND REAR MUD FLAPS

Four (4) heavy-duty rubber rear mud flaps shall be provided and installed on the apparatus. The mud flaps shall

be installed behind the front and rear wheels. Y___N___

CHAINED IGNITION KEY

The key utilized for the ignition shall be securely chained to either the steering column or the cab dash to

prevent loss or removal of the ignition key.

12V POLARIZED BATTERY INLET

A 12V / 15 amp wiring kit shall be provided complete with a weatherproof cover. This system shall allow the

chassis batteries to be maintained at an operating level from an external charging source. Y___N___

110-VOLT SHORELINE

Two (2) 110 volt three prong, shoreline receptacles shall be provided at the cab area. Y___N___

GOOSE NECK MAP LIGHT

A flexible "Goose Neck" map light shall be provide in the cab and wired into the chassis 12-volt electrical

system. This light shall have an integral on/off controls switch. Y___N___

TRANSPORTATION ROAD SAFETY KIT One (1) 2.5 lb. ABC vehicle type fire extinguisher with mounting bracket. One (1) standard First Aid Kit shall be provided. One (1) set of three (3) dual faced triangular warning flares to meet the Department of Transportation's Motor

Vehicle Safety Standards. Y___N___

APPARATUS BODY

The body shall be fabricated with the highest quality components available, and acceptable to the fire service

industry. Only new components shall be in the manufacturing process.

The body shall be engineered and designed to provide a low center of gravity and carry a correct load

distribution.

The entire body superstructure and sub frame shall be constructed of heavy-duty tubular aluminum and

channels to provide a full frame body design.

The use of tubular aluminum and channels shall provide for extreme strength, maximum durability, and

maximum resistance to buckling and failure.

The full frame body construction method shall provide for greater strength and integrity. Formed body

construction shall not be acceptable.

All compartments shall be fabricated with 1/8" aluminum panels, salt-water marine grade 5083-H321, which

are inserted into the body framework. The framework allows for reinforcement to the compartment, for

installation of heavy equipment. The 1/8" aluminum panels, salt-water marine grade 5083-H321 panels shall

provide extreme strength, rust corrosion resistance, and maximum durability.

Skilled craftsmen shall perform all welding operations on the body. All welding shall be electronically with the

highest quality components.

Certified welders shall perform all welding. Proof of welder certification shall be provided with the completed

vehicle. (NO EXCEPTION)

BODY SUBFRAME

The body framework shall be assembled on a jig, and shall be clamped together and squared. The framework

shall be electronically welded with digital pulse welders forming the integral superstructure.

The body frame rails shall be constructed of 6061T6/6063-T6, 3" x 3" aluminum extrusions, with a wall

thickness of 1/4".

The front cross member shall be a heavy duty 3" x 3" x 1/4" aluminum extrusions providing maximum strength

and durability.

The rear cross members shall be heavy duty 3" x 3" x 1/4" aluminum extrusions providing maximum strength

and durability at the rear section of the body.

These body cross members shall extend the full width of the body. The cross members shall provide support for

the body side compartments and rear tailboard section.

The body sub frame and the chassis frame shall be insulated and separated by a rubberized belt.

The body side compartments, both sides and the rear shall be full frame constructed from heavy-duty aluminum

extrusions 2" x 2" x 3/16".

The body shall be mounted to the chassis frame rails with four side mounting plates. This shall provide for

maximum mounting strength and flexibility. (NO EXCEPTION)

WHEEL WELLS

The wheel well frame and construction method shall allow for the wheel well fender to be easily removable for

servicing of the suspension or axle.

The wheel well frame shall allow for the attachment of the 1/8" hi-shine 3003-H14 aluminum checker plate.

The wheel well fender shall be attached to the body sub frame with noncorrosive stain-less steel fasteners.

The inner wheel lining shall be constructed of 1/8" saltwater marine grade 5083-H321 aluminum. The lining

shall be attached to the wheel well framework. (NO EXCEPTION)

TAILBOARD

A heavy-duty 15" deep tailboard shall be provided

The tailboard sub frame shall be 2" x 2" x 3/16" heavy-duty aluminum providing maximum strength and

durability.

The tailboard shall be covered with slip resistant embossed checker plate. The aluminum checker plate shall be

bolted to the tailboard sub frame with non-corrosive stainless steel bolts. The bolt on aluminum tread plate

shall allow for easy removal for service.

The forward section of the tailboard shall be gapped to allow washing without dirt being trapped and for the

drainage of accumulated water. (NO EXCEPTION)

CORROSION PROTECTION

All body components or attachments made from dissimilar metals shall be fastened to the body utilizing an

UHMW/Polyethylene material to prevent metal-to-metal contact preventing dielectric corrosion.

All fasteners used in attaching or fastening or aluminum panels shall be installed with stainless steel hardware.

Rivets shall not be acceptable.

All fasteners shall be installed in a manner, which shall involve drilling, tapping, and application of non-

corrosive grease before the stainless steel bolts are installed. Self-tapping screws or screws without threads

shall not be acceptable. (NO EXCEPTION)

BODY COMPARTMENTS

The body compartments shall be fabricated with 1/8" 5083-H321 salt-water marine aluminum panels. These

panels shall be non-corrosive, durable, and add strength and integrity to the body construction.

The interior compartment seams shall be sealed and caulked with a permanent, pliable automotive type sealer.

All compartments shall have a 1" drop on the lower edge of the door opening to accommodate the door seal,

and to stop moisture from entering the compartment.

All compartments shall have sweep out floors.

All compartments shall be fitted with vinyl matting.

The external compartments tops shall be constructed of hi-shine 1/8” 3003-H14 aluminum tread plate.

All compartments shall have an aluminum drip molding installed over the top of the compartment doors.

All compartments shall be weatherproof. (NO EXCEPTION)

REAR BODY SECTION

The rear section of the apparatus body shall be finished with 1/8" hi-shine 3003-H14 aluminum tread plate

panels. The panels shall be fastened to the rear body framework with stainless steel fasteners. The stainless

steel bolts are drill tapped. Sheet metal screws or self-tapping screws are not acceptable. (NO EXCEPTION) Y___N___

LEFT SIDE BODY COMPARTMENTS

The following compartments shall be provided on the left side of the apparatus body.

One (1) compartment, directly behind the cab measuring, 48.25"W x 65"H x 26"D lower, and 12"D upper,

frame openings.

One (1) compartment forward of the rear wheel measuring 36"W x 65"H x 26"D frame opening.

One (1) compartment over the rear wheel measuring 60"W x 35"H x 26"D frame opening.

One (1) compartment to the rear of the rear wheel measuring 36"W x 65"H x 26"D frame opening.

One (1) compartment to the furthest rear measuring 28"W x 86"H x 26"D frame opening. (checker plate finish

with handles). This compartment shall be designed for the Stokes Basket with measurements of 82” long x 27”

wide x 12” deep. Y___N___

RIGHT SIDE BODY COMPARTMENTS

The following compartments shall be provided on the right side of the apparatus body.

One (1) compartment directly behind the cab measuring 48.25"W x 65"H x 26"D lower and 12"D upper frame

opening.

One (1) compartment forward of the rear wheel measuring 36"W x 65"H x 26"D frame opening.

One (1) compartment over the rear wheel measuring 60"W x 35"H x 26"D frame opening.

One (1) compartment to the rear of the rear wheel measuring 36"W x 65"H x 26"D frame opening.

One (1) compartment to the furthest rear measuring 28"W x 86"H x 26"D frame opening.(checker plate finish

with handles). This compartment shall be for storage of the Telescopic lights. Y___N___

COMPARTMENT DOORS

The compartment doors shall be AMDOR roll-up doors painted to match the apparatus. (NO EXCEPTION) Y___N___

INTERIOR STORAGE AREA

A 55" W x 56" H x 26" D interior bulk storage compartment shall be provided above the exterior compartment

on the left side.

This compartment shall be provided with five (5) fully adjustable shelving units. The interior walk-in body storage compartment shall have a Plexi-Glass side hinged door with a positive type

door retainer installed over the compartment door opening. Y___N___

SUNROOF PACKAGE

There shall be a 33.5” x 18.5” pop up tinted sunroof installed in the center canopy roof panel.

SQUAD BENCH SEAT

There shall be a six (6)-person fold down bench in the apparatus body area. Y___N___

WALK-IN BODY INTERIOR TABLE

The walk-in body interior shall be provided with a table area above the front compartments below the windows

one (1) on each side of the apparatus body. Y___N___

INTERIOR HEATER

The walk-in body shall be equipped with a 30,000 BTU heater. Y___N___

AIR CONDITIONING PACKAGE

The interior rescue body area shall be air conditioned with an evaporator style system.

The rescue air conditioning system shall be connected to the chassis air condition system with an evaporator

installed in the crew area that is suspended from the ceiling.

This air conditioning evaporator shall have an on/off control switch along with a blower motor control switch.

The evaporator shall have a drain line installed to remove excess water. This drain line shall drain through the

lower portion of the canopy structure and empty to the ground.

A compartment partition shall be provided in each interior compartment.

Each compartment partition shall be manufactured from 3/16" aluminum and bolted into place in the body

compartment.

COMPARTMENT SHELVING - ADJUSTABLE

Sixteen (16) adjustable 3/16" aluminum compartment shelves with upturned edges shall be provided. Each shelf

shall be provided with plastic matting and an extra dome light installed on the under side. Y___N___

ADJUSTABLE SHELVING UNI-STRUT SIDE TRACKS

Eight (8) set(s) of four (4) aluminum uni-strut sidetracks shall be provided for installation of adjustable shelves. Y___N___

SLIDEMASTER ROLL OUT TRAY (S)

Five (5) heavy duty ball bearing Slide Master roll out tray shall be provided in a standard body compartment.

The tray(s) shall have two (2) side mounted, 1000 lb. rated ball bearing roll out sliding tracks and a 3/16"

aluminum tray with up turned edges. The tray shall be supplied with plastic floor matting and corner drain

holes.

The tray(s) shall have a push / pull spring lock to keep the tray secure in either the open or closed position. Y___N___

REAR FENDER / WHEEL WELLS

The wheel well frame and construction method shall allow for the wheel well fender to be easily removable for

servicing of the suspension or axle.

The wheel well fender shall be attached to the body subframe with noncorrosive stainless steel fasteners.

The inner wheel lining shall be constructed of 1/8" saltwater marine grade 5083-H321 aluminum. The lining

shall be attached to the wheel well framework.

The wheel well outer skin shall be fabricated from 3003 aluminum checker plate. Y___N___

SCBA AIR BOTTLE STORAGE RACK

There shall be storage for twenty-four (24) SCBA bottles provided. There shall be twelve (12) on each side of

the apparatus body in the compartment over the rear wheels.

These racks shall be built up on a raise at the outer edge so as the SCBA bottles will not slide out of the rack

when in travel.

There shall be rubber supplied around the edges of the storage tubes to prevent scoring on the SCBA bottles.

RUB RAILS

Extruded aluminum "C" channel style rub rails shall be bolted into place with nylon spacers on the lower

framework below the compartments. The rub rail will extend to the outside edges of the side running boards for

protection of the body from impact damage. Y___N___

REAR TOW EYES - PAINTED

Two (2) heavy duty painted tow eyes shall be bolted directly to the rear frame rails.

These tow eyes shall be easily accessible at the rear of the apparatus body. Y___N___

BODY HAND RAILS

The body handrails shall be 1 1/4" in diameter. These handrails shall be extruded aluminum with rubber-

extruded grips for maximum handgrip and safety.

Each handrail shall be installed and supported with chrome plated polished cast brackets.

The handrail brackets shall be provided with an isolation gasket and held in place with stainless steel bolts. Y___N___

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The manufacturer shall design the wiring system for the apparatus in accordance to the SAE, Society of

Automobile Engineers.

The manufacturer shall, determent the circuit loads and design the system to accommodate these loads with

appropriate circuit routings and relays.

All wiring harnesses shall be properly secured and routed. All passages required for routing shall be

grommeted and sealed as required.

All wiring shall be easily accessible for servicing.

All wiring shall be SAE J1128 and SAE J1292 GXL type wire, as per fire industry standards.

All exposed wiring shall be crimped and heat shrunk for added protection.

The wiring harnesses shall be pre-engineered for correct circuit loading and shall be custom made. The

harnesses shall be function, number, and color-coded and shall be fitted inside automotive high temperature

loom. All connections to the main panel box must be made with waterproof automotive style guided pin

locking connectors (NO EXCEPTIONS).

An enclosed main electrical distribution panel that provides protection against dirt, dust, oil, and water shall be

installed in the upper section of the left front compartment.

All electrical connections to the panel shall be made through positive locking environmentally sealed

connectors. The panel features a solid-state power distribution board(s) with visual diagnostics.

All circuits are protected by automatic resetting circuit breakers. All breakers shall be properly sized to the

circuit load and are direct plug in sockets.

All wiring shall have a strain pull test on wiring connections of 40 pounds. Y___N___

BATTERY MASTER SWITCH

A 200-amp solenoid master battery switch shall be installed in the cab within reach of the driver. Y___N___

LIGHTBAR -LED

A 60” Federal Signal Low-Pro LED light bar cab roof warning system will be furnished and rigidly mounted on

top of the cab roof. Y___N___

FRONT EMERGENCY LIGHTING

There shall, be two (2) 9”x7” LED red warning lights (model QL64X-R) complete with chrome bezel and

mounting gasket shall be installed behind the front chassis grille and as high as possible. These lights shall have

red lenses. Y___N___

SIDE EMERGENCY LIGHTING - UPPER

Six (6) 9”x7” LED red warning lights (model QL64X-R) complete with chrome bezel and mounting gasket

shall be installed on the side upper portion of apparatus body, three (3) on the left side and three (3) on the right

side. One (1) at each front and rear corner and one (1) in the center of the body. Y___N___

SIDE EMERGENCY LIGHTING-LOWER

Four (4) 9”x7” LED red warning lights (model QL64X-R) complete with chrome bezel and mounting gasket

shall be installed on the lower sides of the vehicle, two (2) on the left side and two (2) on the right side. Y___N___

REAR EMERGENCY LIGHTING - LOWER

There shall, be three (3) 9”x7” LED red warning lights (model QL64X-R) complete with chrome bezel and

mounting gasket shall be installed on the rear lower portion of the apparatus body one (1) on each side of wheel

well and one (1) at rear of body. These lights shall have red lenses. Y___N___

REAR EMERGENCY LIGHTING - UPPER

There shall, be four (4) 9”x7” LED red warning lights (model QL64X-R) complete with chrome bezel and

mounting gasket shall be installed on the rear upper portion of the apparatus body two (2) on the left side and

two (2) on the right side. These lights shall have red lenses. Y___N___

TRAFFIC CONTROL DIRECTIONAL LIGHT

One (1) LED directional light shall be mounted at the rear of the vehicle as high as possible for best visibility.

A control box mounted in the cab shall control the light. The control box generates four patterns; left arrow,

right arrow, center out and flashing warning patterns. Y___N___

TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY - LED

There shall be a total of two (2) complete sets of 600 series LED lights installed the rear face of the apparatus

body. Two (2) on the left side and two (2) on the right side. These lights shall include shall include, Whelen red

stop/tail lights, Whelen amber "arrow" turn signal lights, and clear back up lights installed in a polished cast

aluminum trim bezels. Y___N___

HAND HELD CAB SPOT LIGHT

One (1) 300,000 candle power hand held spot light, with a momentary type control switch, coiled cord, and

bracket, shall be provided and mounted on the right side in the cab and wired into the 12 volt electrical system.

STEP LIGHTS

All steps on the body shall have adequate light for illumination. Y___N___

GROUND LIGHTS

There shall be a total of six (6) clear LED ground lights with outward facing angle brackets shall be provided on

the apparatus. These lights shall be installed and wired directly into the chassis parking brake system and shall

activate whenever the chassis parking brake is activated with the master battery switch is in the "on" position. Y___N___

BODY SCENE LIGHTING - LEFT SIDE

Three (3) FRC-LED900-Q65 clear angled scene light(s) shall be installed on the left upper side of the apparatus

body beside each red emergency light. Y___N___

BODY SCENE LIGHTING - RIGHT SIDE

Three (3) FRC-LED900-Q65 clear angled scene light(s) shall be installed on the right upper side of the

apparatus body beside each red emergency light. Y___N___

BODY SCENE LIGHTING - REAR

Three (3) FRC-LED900-Q65 clear angled scene light(s) shall be installed on the rear upper side of the apparatus

body. These lights shall be tied to the reverse gear of the transmission as well. Y___N___

COMPARTMENT LIGHTS

All body compartments shall be Luma-bar strip LED clear lights activated by a push button switch located in

each compartment. Y___N___

ENGINE COMPARTMENT LIGHT

One (1) 4" clear engine compartment light shall be installed in the engine compartment area and shall be

activated by a mercury switch. Y___N___

DOOR AJAR SYSTEM

A red warning light for the door ajar system shall be provided in the cab. This light shall be activated when a

compartment door on the apparatus body is open and the park brake is released. Y___N___

CLEARANCE AND MARKER LIGHTS - LED

All clearance / marker lights, reflectors shall comply with department of transport motor vehicle safety

standards. The clearance / marker lights shall be LED (light emitting diode) type. A set of LED (light emitting diode) front clearance lamps shall be installed on the front of the body to comply

with department of transport motor vehicle safety standards. A set of LED (light emitting diode) mid body turn signals shall be installed to comply with department of

transport motor vehicle safety standards for vehicles over 30 feet in length. Y___N___

BACK UP ALARM

A Federal Signal 107db back up alarm shall be installed at the rear of the apparatus body. This back up alarm

shall be activated when the chassis transmission is placed into reverse. Y___N___

ELECTRONIC SIREN

There shall be a Federal Smart Siren electronic siren, with microphone and installed in the cab. Y___N___

ELECTRONIC SIREN SPEAKER

There shall be a MS100 / 100 watt electronic siren speaker provided at the front bumper and connected into the

electronic siren. Y___N___

BREAKER BOX - EIGHT CIRCUIT

An eight (8) circuit breaker box complete with eight (8) 15-amp breakers shall be provided and installed in the

generator compartment. This circuit breaker box shall be connected directly to the output side of the generator

via a 30-amp supply cord. Y___N___

RECEPTACLE (S) - INTERIOR

Eight (8) 120 volt / 15 amp duplex straight blade receptacle(s) shall be provided and installed flush mounted on

the interior of the fire apparatus body. Four (4) of these shall be connected to the shoreline and four 94) shall be

connected to the generator. Location shall be at the Fire Departments discretion. Y___N___

RECEPTACLE (S) - EXTERIOR (WEATHER PROOF)

Four (4) 120 volt / 15 amp duplex straight blade receptacle(s) shall be provided and installed flush mounted on

the exterior of the fire apparatus body. The receptacle(s) shall have a sealed weather proof cover to protect

against the elements. Location shall be at the Fire Departments discretion. Y___N___

CORD REEL - ELECTRIC REWIND

An electric rewind cord reel shall be supplied and installed on the fire apparatus. The cord reel shall be rewound

by a heavy duty spring and have the capacity to hold a 100' of 12/3 wire. The reel shall have a four-way roller

assembly installed on it to help guide and protect the cable. The exterior of the reel shall have a painted oven-

cured enamel finish. The location of the cord reel shall be at the Fire Departments discretion. The reel shall have a four-way roller assembly installed on it to help guide and protect the cable. 100' of black 10/3 SOOW cabled wire shall be supplied and installed with the cord reel. A straight blade 15-amp female receptacle shall be supplied on the wire. A round cable stop shall be provided on the wire. Y___N___

TELESCOPIC TRIPOD 750-WATT FLOODLIGHT (S)

Two (2) tri-pod telescopic light(s) shall be provided. The light poles shall be anodized aluminum and have a

knurled twist lock mechanism to secure the extension pole in position. The extension pole shall extend 40" and

rotate 360 degrees. An internal brake shall slow the extension pole during lowering. The outer pole shall be a

grooved aluminum extrusion. The folding legs shall be anodized aluminum tubing with plastic end caps. The

fully extended tripod system shall exceed a height of 11'. Wiring shall extend from the pole bottom with a 4'

retractile cord.

The lamp head shall have one (1) quartz halogen 750 watt 120 volt bulb. The bulb will draw 6.3 amps and

generate 19,600 lumens. The bulb shall be accessible through the front. The lamp head shall incorporate a

vacuum deposit polished reflector and two optimizing mirrors to produce a uniform beam that lights up an area

100° vertically by 150° horizontally. The lamp head shall have a heat dissipating curved front lens. The curve of

the lens shall have a radius of 5.16 inches to optimize light emission. The lamp head shall be no more than 4

3/4" deep by 5 1/8" high by 8 3/4" wide. Lamp head and brackets shall be powder coated white.

Location of floodlight(s) shall be: solidly mounted in the L-5 compartment. There shall be a scuff plate

manufactured from 304 Stainless Steel installed on these compartment walls for from the lights. Y___N___

COMMAND LIGHT

A Command Light shall be provided on the completed apparatus.

The Command Light shall have six (6), 750-watt 120v quartz light heads. The two (2) lower light heads shall be

capable of rotating 180 degrees to the rear.

The Command Light shall be 12 volt DC operated, and have telescoping and pan features with all light

assembly functions controlled by a remote controlled pendent control box. The remote pendent control box shall

be mounted on the front wall of R-4 compartment.

There shall be a deflector shield mounted around the command for protection of the command light. Y___N___

ANTENNA KITS

Two (2) VHF high gain antenna kits shall be mounted at a suitable location on top of the chassis. One (1) for

the radio in the chassis and one (1) for the radio in the command area of the apparatus body. There shall be

power supplied in both locations for the two-way radio.

FINISH AND PAINTING - PPG

The painting shall be done in accordance with automotive practices using Delfleet® Evolution FBCH high

solids polyurethane paint with the PPG painting process.

All painting shall be baked at 160 degrees F. for a minimum 45 minutes to provide an automotive quality finish.

After assembly, the body substructure and pump house shall be deburred and hand sanded.

All ledges inside and outside shall be cleaned and sealed.

The painting process consists of the following applications:

a) Wash entire body with DX 440 wax and grease remover

b) Etch primer, PPG F3963 (0.2 - 0.35 mils dry)

c) Primer, PPG F3975 (3.0 - 6.0 mils dry)

d) Wash entire body with DX 330 wax and grease remover

e) Primer sealer, Epoxy PPG F399x (1.0 - 4.0 mils dry)

f) Basecoat, Delfleet® evolution PPG FBCH (1.0 - 3.0 mils dry)

g) Clearcoat, PPG F3906 clear (minimum of 2.0 mils)

All outside seams that are not 100 percent welded shall be sealed and caulked inside and outside before the final

paint finish is applied.

Only after the entire painting process is completed shall the body structures be installed on the chassis.

Only after the body is painted shall the components such as doors, aluminum inlay panels, mounting brackets,

handrails, pump panels, and other accessories be installed. Y___N___

PAINT COLOR - CHASSIS

The chassis shall be painted a single color by the chassis manufacturer. This shall be the final paint color and

finish for the completed vehicle. Y___N___

PAINT COLOR - BODY

The body shall be painted a single color to match the chassis paint finish as provided by the chassis

manufacturer. Y___N___

STANDARD COMPARTMENT FINISH

The interior of all compartments of the body shall also be sealed and caulked. A trunk coat finish of gray

urethane paint shall be applied. Y___N___

BODY UNDERCOATING - CORASHIELD®

The underside of the apparatus body shall be thoroughly prepared and sprayed with Corashield® that will help

prevent rust and corrosion. A minimum of 8-10 mils of Corashield® shall be sprayed in the inner wheel well

areas outside of the fender liners, the entire bottom of the apparatus body, and the upper interior body area

where the tank is installed before and after paint.

The Corashield® is a sprayable latex coating designed for use on aluminum, fiber glass, cold rolled steel,

galvanized steel, and most metal primers. Corashield® is formulated to give very good corrosion protection.

This medium viscosity, sag resistant coating can be easily sprayed onto exposed underbody areas, and into

restricted areas such as tubing and "hidden” areas accessible only with spray wands.

Corashield® dries quickly at ambient temperatures and will withstand urethane paint bakes after only 30 min

drying at room temperature.

Corashield® provides better protection than any of the competitive products tested without the environmental

and safety problems inherent in many of the under coatings available today. Y___N___

LETTERING

Shall be installed in Kingston at customers request and included in the total price of the vehicle.

PIN STRIPING - CAB & BODY

The cab and the cab doors along with the painted compartment doors on the body shall have 3M gold trim. Y___N___

REFLECTIVE BODY PRIMARY STRIPING

There shall be a four inch wide white reflective stripe applied to the left, right and rear sides of the apparatus.

The reflective stripe shall be a 3M Scotchlite product. There shall be a two-inch gold accent stripe above and

below the white. There shall be a one-inch wide reflective stripe applied to the front of the apparatus. The reflective stripe shall

be a 3M Scotchlite product. There shall be reflective striping applied to the interior chassis cab doors of the apparatus. The reflective stripe

shall be a 3M Scotchlite product.

110-VOLT REFRIDGERATOR

There shall be a 110-volt refrigerator mount in the apparatus body as per the direction of the fire department.

TWO WAY RADIO WIRING AND ANTENNA

There shall be power wiring supplied to the apparatus body for installation of a two-way radio. An antenna shall

be installed on the apparatus body for the radio in the body.

FLASHLIGHT/RADIO WIRING

There shall be wiring in the apparatus for rechargeable flashlights and portable radios as per the direction of the

fire department.

GENERATOR

There shall be a 12KW diesel fired Cummins Onan Commercial QD (12HDKCD-22090) generator supplied

and mounted in the right front compartment on the apparatus. The generator shall be tied into the chassis fuel

tank. The generator exhaust shall run down through the floor of the compartment.

WHEEL CHOCKS

There shall be a set of wheel chocks supplied and mounted as per the fire departments instructions in

compartment L-4.

There shall be customer supplied rechargeable flashlights mounted in the R-4 compartment on the back wall as

per fire department directions. These flashlights shall be wired to the chassis 12v battery system.
