PICKEREL (WALLEYE) have dorsal fins with sharp spines and excellent eating snowy white flesh.

Ice Fishing ToursEnjoy a 4-hour ice fishing experience on Great Slave Lake. Travel a half hour by heated, snow-tracked vehicle to your comfortable fishing hut, then drop a line through several feet of ice, to see if you can pull in a big one. Tours depart daily at 11 a.m. Can accommodate groups of up to 30 people. Winter clothing is not included, but is available for rental.

4 Days at Peterson’s Point Lake Lodge located some 215 miles north of Yellowknife and the most northerly in the Northwest Territories. Point Lake, located on the edge of the Arctic Circle, is situated in the midst of a vast land of countless lakes and rivers that form the legendary Coppermine River system which winds its way some 200 miles to the Arctic Ocean.

Land a 40 pound Pike along the shore of Great Slave Lake, troll for mammoth Lake Trout, or fly fish for acrobatic Arctic Grayling.Here is a small selection of the many superb angling adventures available from half a day or longer either close to town or by flying out to a remote lake – contact us for more options

Day 1: Arrive YellowknifeMet on arrival with transfer to your hotel and the rest of the day to explore Yellowknife via the many interesting Day Tours on offer.

Day 2: Yellowknife to Peterson’ Point Lodge (B,L,D)An early morning hotel pick up and transfer to the float plane base where, after a champagne breakfast, there is a one hour and thirty minute flight to the Lodge.

On arrival Jim Peterson the owner and his staff will greet you and take you on a lodge tour and to your cabin while later, over lunch, an

orientation with the Peterson Team before heading out on the lake to try your luck.

Days 3-4: Peterson’s Point Lodge (B,L,D)Enjoy days full of adventure, wonder and excitement as you begin each day with a full breakfast where you plan your day and fishing locations using the Point Lake map on the Lodge wall.

Each day at Point Lake is unique, as weather and fish activities will influence the days plans. Anglers usually depart at 8:00 am with the option of a picnic or sumptuous shore lunch returning in time to relax before dinner served in the main lodge at 7:00 pm. Enjoy the great food and the camaraderie of other anglers and staff and after dinner relax and swap fishing experiences with fellow guests in the main lodge lounge, the gazebo and sauna.

Day 5: Peterson’s Point Lodge to Yellowknife (B)Departing for Yellowknife after breakfast at ~9:30 am arriving at ~11:00 am, with a transfer to the airport or hotel.
