INSTRUCTIONS

You will need:

Getting ready:

Four word boards are provided in this pack. Select the appropriate board/s for your

student/s to practice the sound in initial, medial, final or mixed positions.

Print the word boards and laminate to make a lasting resource.

- a word board for each player

- a dice

- bingo chips (or something similar) or a dry-erase marker for each player

The aim of the game is to be the first to cross out or cover six squares in a straight line

(vertically, horizontally or diagonally) - and to practice saying /r/ at word or

sentence level.

To play:

Take turns to roll the dice.

When it’s your turn, roll the dice and choose any square on the board that shows that

number.

Say the word out loud (or put it in a sentence) and then cross it out or cover it with a

bingo chip (or a button or cardboard square, etc). Then pass the dice to the next player.

The first player to cover six in a row, in a column, or from corner to corner calls out

‘Bingo!’ and is the winner.
