Speeches and presentation of original poems for H.S. levels 4/5 and College levels 1/2

IMPROMPTU SPEECH TOPICS 2017

The students may choose to improvise a 3-minute speech on one of the topics below. Three minutes before the students are to deliver the speech; they will draw from an envelope a slip of paper to determine which of the topics is to be addressed. The students may plan ahead of time for each of the topics by reading, interviewing, and organizing their thoughts. However, the students MAY NOT USE NOTES during the presentations and MUST SPEAK ON THE TOPIC WHICH IS DRAWN AT RANDOM FROM THE ENVELOPE.

The judges will evaluate content, organization, vocabulary, pronunciation, poise and enthusiasm. If a student does not finish his speech within the allotted time, the judges will ask the presenter to stop. This will not negatively affect the performance rating.

1) Cada da parece que en este pas se requiere o es recomendable hablar espaol ya que va creciendo la poblacin hispanohablante a paso muy acelerado. Piensas que un da en el futuro este pas llegue a ser bilinge? Cules seran los inconvenientes o beneficios si ste fuera el caso?

2) La idea del ao Gap (tomar un ao para trabajar o viajar antes de ir a la universidad) es ms y ms popular. Muchos estudiantes quieren aprovechar de esta oportunidad de ver el mundo o conseguir experiencia laboral antes de empezar una carrera universitaria. Es una buena idea tomar un ao Gap? Debe ser obligatorio para todos tomar un ao Gap?
