I think this is a fun way to get students to practice spelling. It helps them to learn the order of the letters in their spelling words.

Who Am I?This activity would be fairly easy to implement and take very little preparation. It would also give the students a chance to examine the words themselves and come up with a description for the word. This would allow the student to not only practice spelling skills

but would also allow them to utilize communication and teamwork skills.

Sorting Patterns

I think this is a good strategy for elementary students to learn how to spell. By doing this from an early age, they can begin to categorize in their minds without this activity as they get older, and spelling can become an easier task for them.

I think this is a great activity for all children who are beginning to read to do. It sounds like it would help children start to determine the different sounds in the words and helps them with deciphering new words and spelling words.

I think this would be a great activity for younger kids looking to put a little fun into their spelling lessons. maybe make the boxes same or different colors to help or challenge them.

Unscrambling Anagrams

I believe this is a good activity to get the brain thinking. Depending on the difficulty-levels of the anagrams, it could be used for upper elementary students also. For the beginners, it would be best to use the scrabble letter tiles and have shorter words.

I think this particular activity would be very beneficial to my students in theirspelling it would be a very effective way to pick out the students in my class that were good or struggling spellers

Old Word, New Word: Add-a-letter activityI think this is an excellent listen to help improve vocab skills, as well as being

able to identify word-sounds. In addition to this being done independently, it can be turned into a group assignment. Each group receives flash cards with letters on them, and have to race to fill a worksheet with 5 words. The assignment can continue to build on the word by including the instruction that one new letter gets added every round. This will help create a fun game, while allowing the children

to improve their skills. Another addition could be adding a blend, instead of single letter to help build adding on other things like “ing, nd, mp, ld” ect..

Wooden Letters I think this would be a great exercise for students learning how to spell. It would be a fun competitive activity and the teacher could vary the time they get and how many words the teacher wants the student to form.

I think this would be a good activity for children to practice their memory. It can be a fun game and this will spark their interest!

Vocabulary Free-Write

I think that this activity is going to be very beneficial to students at any age. This allows for students to be able to expand their own use of their vocabulary and this lets for students to comprehend their vocab a little better because of the use that they are showing. This works on their writing skills as well as learning their vocabulary words.

I think this would be a good activity for mid to upper level elementary students after their reading fluency has picked up as well as vocabulary skills. Time would be the biggest critique I would have for this activity.
