COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course will serve to continue to train mature students in the art and practice of spiritual
accompaniment. The content and format provide an opportunity for an expanded knowledge and
experience of the ministry through the practice of supervised spiritual direction. Through lectures,
class discussions, spiritual exercises, supervised practice of spiritual direction, required reading, and
personal reflection, students will not only learn critical skills for the practice, but also benefit from
the hands-on supervision of their practice. In addition, the required reading provides for personal
reflection and spiritual growth and discovery. Through this experience, both students and
supervisor(s) will continue to learn about the persons, process and practice of guiding fellow pilgrims
deeper in love, faith and hope in Christ.
OBJECTIVES

direction.
