What is Spiritual Maturity?Text: Ephesians 4:13-14
Discussion point: What does spiritual maturity mean to you?
Life-long pursuit of being
Christ-like in thoughts,
words and actions
(Ephesians 4:13, Romans
12:2, Revelations 3:15-
16)
Spiritual maturity encompasses of…
Having an
intimate
experiential
knowledge of God
(1 John 2:13-14,
Hebrews 6:1-3)
Spiritual maturity encompasses of…
The consistent
demonstration of the
fruits of the spirit is
the ultimate evidence
of spiritual maturity.
(Galatians 5:22)
Spiritual maturity encompasses of…
Maturity HabitsWHAT MUST I DO TO GROW UP SPIRITUALLY?
God’s word is to your
spirit man what food is
to your natural man.
(Matthew 4:4, 1Peter
2:2)
No Scripture, No Supper:
Rich and dynamic
communication is the
live-wire of any
relationship.
(Luke 18:1, Ephesians
5:16-20)
Prayer
This is necessary for keeping
the flesh under to attain
different levels in God
(1 Corinthians 9:27, Luke
2:36-37, Acts 13:2, 2
Corinthians 11:27)
FASTING
It demonstrates the
genuineness of your
faith to the world and
the devil. It is God’s
heart-cry and it must be
yours as well
(Acts 1:8)
SOUL WINNING
It is an integral part of our
worship as we part with our
earthly riches to honor our Lord
so that he can take preeminence
over our entire life and opens us
up to his bountifully abundant
blessings.
(Matthew 6:25-33)
GIVING
Organize your life to be a
blessing to people who
cannot pay you back. This is
how to lay up treasures for
yourself in heaven
(Matthew 5:43-47)
ACT OF KINDNESS
This is another important aspect of our
worship as we spend our time and
energy in our father’s business of saving
and transforming lives. This is the only
proof that your time and attention now
belong to God. It brings a sense of
balance and fulfillment to your life as a
believer (John 5:17)
KINGDOM SERVICE
This provides a conducive
environment for transformation.
It provides accountability,
continuous inspiration and the
right support towards a strong
and consistent walk with God
(Psalms 68:5-6, Psalms 133)
ACTIVE IDENTIFICATION WITH A SMALL FAMILY OF GOD’S PEOPLE (E.g. CONNECT GROUPS)
