DAY 5 – Conflans Sainte Honorine / Auvers sur OiseThis morning the ship arrives in the charm-ing medieval town of Conflans. In port, youhave a choice of discovering the charms ofAuvers-sur-Oise and seeing the house whereVincent van Gogh had a room, OR visitingthe magnificent Chantilly Castle for a guidedtour of this remarkable château set amidstbeautiful parklands. DAY 6 – RouenThe ship arrives in this historic capital ofNormandy and one of the most prosperouscities of medieval Europe. Your local guideleads you on an included walking tour to seethe gothic Notre Dame Cathedral, the Ruedu Gros Horloge – the main street of Rouen,and the amazing astronomical clock. Visitthe historic district Place du Vieux-Marchewhere a monument marks the spot whereJoan of Arc was burnt at the stake. DAY 7 – Honfleur / NormandyAs the ship arrives in the picturesque villageof Honfleur, you have a choice of activitiesfor today. On an excursion to Normandy, seethe now peaceful province which is very dif-ferent than on June 6, 1944. Walk the his-toric beaches and visit the Landing Museumat Arromanches. At the Normandy AmericanCemetery, see thousands of white crossesmarking the graves of our military heroes.OR, take an opportunity to explore postcardperfect Honfleur with its colorful fishingboats and historic houses. DAY 8 – Honfleur / Caudebec-en-CauxToday brings a choice of two excursions.Travel to Fécamp, situated in spectacularsurroundings amidst the tallest cliffs of Nor-mandy. The city’s natural setting contrastsperfectly with its architectural centerpiece,the Benedictine Palace. OR, choose to travelthrough picturesque landscapes that were

once dotted with over 100 abbeys. Alongthe way, visit some of the abbeys of this mag-nificent region that are still operating today.Meals: B, L, D

DAY 9 – VernonYour choice of activities includes an excur-sion to Giverny and Monet’s former resi-dence and gardens where you will be amazedby the beauty of the landscape as you strollalong the paths. OR, if you’re feeling moreadventurous, explore by bike, with a self-guided cycling tour that starts in Vernon.You’re in for a treat as you experience the op-ulence and grandeur of yesteryear as you at-tend a classical concert performed by theregion’s most reputable musicians at theChâteau de La Roche Guyon. DAY 10 – ParisArriving back in Paris, your free choice activ-ities are: shop with a Chef at local food mar-kets and enjoy exquisite tastings, OR, walkthe city with a resident expert and hear talesthat only the locals know. DAY 11 – Paris / USABid ‘au revoir’ to France and return homewith memories of wonderful experiencesaboard the MS Scenic Gem along the SeineRiver. Meal: B
