Convertible Air HandlerMCX SeriesThe MCX-GB series is the compactdesign with 3-convenienceinstallation-floor, low wall, and ceilingtypes. Fashionable adjustabledischarge grille and decorative returnair grilles are modern and elegantoutlook. Unit panels are internallyacoustically insulated with closed cellelastomeric insulator for quiet opera-tion and healthy indoor air quality.

Ceiling Air HandlerModel MCD-AA and MCD-EB airhandler are designed for horizontalconcealed ceiling applications,commonly used within the closets ofhotels, motels and apartment.Standard features include tripleprotection drain pan (galvanized steel,polystyrene foam, and plastic)providing maximum insulation andwater integrity. Servicing is madesimple because the motor-blowersection is completely removable fromthe coil section.

Ducted Air HandlerModel MCD-DB is the high staticversion of the model MCD-AA andMCD-EB unit. It utilizes the largerdiameter fans operating at low RPM toachieve the increased static pressurerequirements needed for limiteddistribution ducts. The standard unithas a 1-inch supply air duct collar tofacilitate field connection of the supplyductwork.

Mechanical Specifications

Condensing SectionThe Trane Split water-Cooledcondensing units are designed forcommercial and industrial applications.Trane split water-cooled condensingunit can be matched with a variety ofair handlers in either convertible,ceiling, or ducted air handlers. Theseunits may be arranged to meet almostany space to make them suitable forevery application.

CabinetUnit panels are fabricated ofheavy-gauge steel and finished witha polyester powder painting andweather-resistant baked enamel finish.Unit surface has been tested 500 hoursin salt spray test. Condenser waterinlet/outlet and electrical wiring holesare provided. Base drain is a 3/4 -inchfemale connection.

High Efficiency CompressorSpecial low-friction valve ports andrubbing surfaces allow same capacityfor less electrical power input-higherEER. Compressor is externallymounted on isolators to isolate theoperating sound for quiet operation.

Refrigerant CircuitRefrigerant piping for condensing unithas been designed and installed toabsorb vibration. Packed valves makethe quicker and easier installation ofrefrigerant lines. Easy for refrigerantcharging with charging port.

Water-Cooled CondenserTube in tube condenser is constructedwith copper tubing. Water copper pipeconnections are provided forcondenser water inlet and outlet.
