2019 Year of the PigThe City of Ryde is home to a large and vibrant Chinese and Korean community. The yearly Lunar New Year event has a successful track record and is widely acknowledged as one of the largest new year celebrations in Sydney. The equal partnership between the City of Ryde and local Chinese and Korean communities in Ryde in organising the celebration. In 2019, the local community is planning to stage an even bigger event, celebrating with a Grand celebration event on Saturday 16 February at Eastwood Oval. A Lunar New Year committee comprising local community leaders, business and residents has kicked off its meeting to organise the 2019 event.

Special remarks: The committee reserves the right to cancel or postpone the event due to severe weather conditions without any refund.
