The plane was late and detectives waited at theairport all morning. They expected a valuableparcel of diamonds from South Africa. A fewhours earlier, someone had told the police thatthieves would try to steal the diamonds. When

the plane arrived some of detectives waitedinside the main building while others waited onthe airfield. Two men took the parcel off theplane and carried into the Custom House. While

two detectives kept guard at the door, twoothers opened the parcel. To their surprise, theprecious parcel was full of stones and sand!

One day a clown was visiting the zoo and attemptedto earn some money by making a street

performance. He acted and mimed perfectly someanimal acts. As soon as he started to drive a crowd,a zoo keeper grabbed him and dragged him into hisoffice. The zoo keeper explained to the clown that

the zoo's most popular gorilla had died suddenlyand the keeper was fear that attendance at the zoowould fall off. So he offered the clown a job to dressup as the gorilla until the zoo could get another one.

The clown accepted this great opportunity.So the next morning the clown put on the gorillasuit and entered the cage before the crowd came.He felt that it was a great job. He could sleep all he

At the end of the day the zoo keeper came andgave him a raise for being such a good

attraction. Well, this went on for some time, hekept taunting the lion, the audience crowd grewa larger, and his salary kept going up. Then oneterrible day happened. When he was dangling

over the furious lion, he slipped and fell into thelion cage. The clown was really in big terriblesituation. He was terrified.

Do you know what the meaning of corruption is? What is the

relation between money and corruption? Well, corruption is

common everywhere in the world, even in the United States. Itsjust a matter of intensity. However, it is quite shocking when one

reliable survey claims Jakarta as the most corrupt place in

Indonesia.

The survey has made me sad, actually, because I stay and earn a

living here in the capital. As most people know, Tanjung Priok

port smuggling is not a new thing at all. Entrepreneurs who want

to minimize their tax payments tend to do such a thing more

often. They even bribe the officials.

Well, I think the measures taken so far to overcome the problem

by punishing the corruptors is still not far enough. We have to

prevent the younger generations from getting a bad mentality
