plus a summary of accomplishments.
HOME and FAMILY Sponsorship: Provide 25 families with special need support and/or Family Resilence Training. CBR YouthConnect provides three in-home programs to help youth and families: Preventative Aftercare, Therapeutic Supervised Visitation and Family Resilience Training. Trends in child abuse, neglect, absentee parenting, child homelessness, family crises, teen suicide and youth rebellion continue to put stress on family stability and development of youth. Our programs inspire and support youth and parents and
also help keep families together.
SCHOOL and EDUCATION Sponsorship: Provide 35 youth with the courses and training needed to prevent school drop out. CBR YouthConnect provides two school related programs to help risk-laden youth: Drop-Out Education and Social Emotional Learning Courses. These youth are more likely to drop out; unlikely to graduate from college; and have higher rates of suicide, homelessness, unemployment and teen pregnancy. Our
programs offer counselling and training courses to improve their high school graduation rate.
VALUES and ETHICS Sponsorship: Provides 35 youth with a personal ethics course (STORY program). CBR YouthConnect provides two programs that connect youth their own values, ethics and purpose: The STORY program and Standing Up in a Knock Down World. Today’s youth are over exposed to the negative influences in our society and under-exposed to positive ethics and healthy role models. Many are left feeling confused about what is important, what is right and wrong and what they stand for in life. Our programs offer new approaches to learning that inspire and equip children, youth and parents to think about
and adopt a set of personal principles and then have the courage to live by them.
ANIMALS and NATURE Sponsorship: Provide 30 youth with a human/animal bond course (Pawsitive Connection Dog Program). CBR YouthConnect is a recognized leader in this area and provides two animal related programs: Pawsitive Connection and Animal Assisted Therapy. It also owns the Thunderbird Ranch Outdoor Education Site. The programs have reached thousands of lives, been featured on Animal Planet, Discovery Channel and other media and the subject to several studies. General research shows that animal interaction and nature experiences benefit general health and brain development.
