Welcome to Kingswood We’ve been creating inspiring experiences for the last 35 years and motivating over 165,000 young people each year through programmes linked to life skills development and the curriculum. NEW for 2018/19, we’re thrilled to add an expanded range of sports programmes to our award winning residential experiences - following a large investment in sports facilities at our centres, and partnerships with experienced sports providers and professional clubs.

Sports at Kingswood and how to book From match day experiences and training at professional football clubs to netball tournaments and activity weekends, we have exciting opportunities for every youth and adult sports group, school or sports agent.

What sets Kingswood apart from other sports trip providers is that all our programmes are focused on learning outcomes and core life skills development including team building, self-confidence and resilience. Sport provides important lessons in challenge; celebrating achievement and accepting failure. Kingswood’s sports trips deliver essential learning objectives that will encourage your team to bond, have the confidence to win and the resilience to lose by improving self-esteem. And let’s not forget the fun your group will have with a selection of over 60 high-adrenaline and challenging adventure activities and exciting evening entertainment.

Our programmes are fully-inclusive of accommodation, meals, activities and entertainment. We can also provide a wide range of ‘add ons’ including transport and stadium tours - working within your budget to create the most memorable sports trip.

Our sports programmes are bespoke for every group – whether you want to play other teams as part of pre-arranged games, practice at our centres or work with us to arrange pitch hire at nearby sports grounds. Adventure LodgesDuring the summer months, we offer ‘glamping’ Adventure Lodge accommodation. Our safari-style lodges give another opportunity for teams to bond with social spaces in yurts for exciting evening entertainment. Adventure Lodges are available at Grosvenor Hall, Isle of Wight, Dearne Valley and Colomendy.

Indoor accommodationOur standard indoor accommodation includes dormitory style rooms. Rooms typically range from four to 16 bed dormitories, with gender-separated bathroom and shower facilities with party leader rooms close by. Our teacher rooms across all accommodation have tea and coffee making facilities.


We offer the perfect base for every football and activity weekend including gym facilities for pre-match training and a huge range of adventure activities (see page 3 for an itinerary). Our partners provide state-of-the-art football pitches conveniently located within 30 minutes of our centres.

Football tournamentsBring your tournament to Kingswood. Our partners’ top quality pitches provide you with the best possible match experiences for your tournament. We can also organise medals and certificates and additional transport as a supplement.

Stadium toursAdd on a stadium tour to your football experience. Tour locations include Sheffield Wednesday, Sunderland, Newcastle United, Charlton Athletic, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham.

Netball and activity weekends Following a £1m investment in sports and accommodation facilities at Grosvenor Hall, we’re very proud to announce we now have a brand new four pitch flood-lit outdoor sports court, as well as one indoor court. Our netball experiences are perfect for both junior and adult netball weekends and tournaments, as well as, inter school tournaments.

Motivate your netball team with a netball intensive activity weekend at Kingswood. Improve technique, skills on the court and combine netball training with matches and a programme of adventure activities and exciting evening entertainment. We can also provide specialist netball coaches from HC Tournaments on request to add to your train and play sessions.

Netball tournamentsWe work with fully-qualified partners, HC Tournaments and England Netball, to manage tournaments. Providing players of all ages with the chance to compete, develop skills and take part in exciting matches alongside other teams. You can also organise your own tournaments at our centres listed within locations. Winners will feature on our leader board at your chosen Kingswood centre.

Every day is filled with adventurous activities from zipwires to dragon boat racing; depending which centre you choose. They are also a fantastic way to reward your team for a great season or to nurture team bonding with pre-season training combined with thrilling activities.

The 15th annual HOLT RFC mini-rugby tournament is supported once again by Kingswood. Enjoy all inclusive accommodation, food, and team building activities, plus, your team’s entry into the festival, for just £80 per person.

Pure AdventureIf you would like to have an activity day without the sport, our Adventure Choice programme is perfect to reward your team, for pre-season team bonding, or just to have tons of fun experiencing new adventures! Enjoy a selection from over 60 activities – fly through the air on a zipwire, have a race on our motorsports buggies, get back to nature with bushcraft activities, and end the evenings toasting marshmallows by the campfire.

Providing the skills for sporting

success

Our new personal development programme, Kick Start, is one of the most progressive programmes we have for sports teams. It focuses on identifying and improving individual and team behaviour, skills and performance.

Kick Start utilises the powerful and internationally accepted MTQ48 psychometric questionnaire to measure a person’s development over the course of their Kingswood activity programme. This mechanism allows a benchmark for positive behaviours to be measured and progression tracked alongside a coaching report for each person, which provides evidence of personal development.
