Dr. Daniel M. Laby completed his fellowship at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA Medical Center specia l iz ing in Pediatr ic Ophthalmology and Strabismus. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Harvard Medical School and the New England College of Optometry. Dr. Laby has been the staff ophthalmologist for several professional sports teams including the LA Dodgers, the Boston Red Sox and the 2008 US Olympic Team. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. David G. Kirschen has been in private practice for over 35 years specializing in pediatric optometry, treatment of binocular vision anomalies, computer vision problems, strabismus and amblyopia, contact lenses and sports vision. He completed his OD and PhD degrees at the University of California, Berkeley and as a Post-doctoral Fellow under the mentorship of Prof. Merton C. Flom. Dr. Kirschen is the current Chief of Binocular Vision and Orthopedic Services at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA Medical Centre. In addition, Dr. Kirschen has served as the team optometrist for several professional baseball sports teams including the LA Dodgers, the Boston Red Sox and the 2008 US Olympic Team.

Dr. Daniel Laby and Dr. David Kirschen wil l discuss about the emerging academic discipline of Sports Vision. They bring to us a multi-disciplinary perspective into the professional management of sports vision care. Specific highlights on the latest e x a m i n a t i o n a n d e n h a n c e m e n t techniques and how they are applied in sports vision exams will be explored followed by an afternoon demonstration workshop to see how these concepts are integrated into a testing and vision training environment.
