  • Dear Saints Families, We had a visit by our beloved Fr. Truong Son this morning who performed the “Blessing of the Doors” in honor of Epiphany. Please see the pictures and videos below of this beautiful ceremony. As we are all in need of special protection and blessings in the new year, you are encouraged to do the same at your home. Please send us pictures if you decide to do this with your family!

I trust that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a great start to 2021. I know that we are still in the midst of a pandemic and continue to experience a lot of anxiety and uncertainty due to the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases. Hearing the news from some in our community that have received the vaccine is encouraging and gives us hope that we may eventually be rid of this horrible scourge. On a happy note, it was like Christmas Day all over again as we welcomed more of our remote students back in the building at arrival yesterday. Some students we hadn’t seen since March when this all began and we have missed them so much! In walking around and checking on them throughout the day, they all appeared happy and relieved to be back with their friends. I hope they shared the same thoughts with you at home. Finally, we have had a lot of questions recently regarding our travel and COVID protocol due to the rising number of cases in our area. Understandably, some of you have contacted us out of concern regarding posts on personal Facebook pages where families have traveled or have shared the news of their recent personal brush with the virus. We are concerned as well and appreciate those that have contacted us so that we can communicate how all of this fits with our CDC-recommended protocol. Just as I tell the staff, “if you see something, say something” to those you are concerned about, but please don’t assume others are intentionally negligent. Nothing is easy this year and please know that if we are made aware, we are following the guidelines. If information is withheld from us or conflicting, then we are all at risk. Please also keep in mind that we are in communication with many families and they are cooperating fully. Due to privacy, we cannot share information with others, so as I also tell staff, assume that everyone could be a potential risk and you will make the right decision. For clarification purposes, please read the updated information from our clinic and continue to distance and wear masks in public as well. SLCS Covid-19 School Update and Reminders, Thank you for working with us and caring for others so that we can get through this together. God bless, Suzanne Barto Click HERE to listen! There are tentative plans to have volleyball and soccer seasons this spring. Things keep changing but it will help to know how many are interested. Registration is not a commitment to play and no fees will be charged until competition begins. Please go to the Athletic website and register for soccer, volleyball and spring sports.
