Write a definition or an example sentence using these PHRASALS from Unit 2. apply for sth (a job, etc.) look for sth / sb

deal with sth / sb send off / out sth (your CV)

fill in / out sth (a form) take on sb = employ

find out (about sth) “How did you f.o. about the job?” turn down sth (a job, etc.)

hand in your notice = resign write back

Can you tell the difference between these words? Use a dictionary to help you. sack / dismiss / fire sb (from their job for (doing) sth)

dismiss an employee if their work is not good enough / they have done sth

wrong. Less formal: sack sb, give sb the sack, get the sack, fire sb

make sb redundant / lay sb off (past / participle: laid)
