The packages available to the user in the selected specialist function are displayed in compact form in the package filter. Thetexts displayed represent the ASRA operation texts.

In the case of packages you created yourself, it may occur that the "Text" field remains blank. That is always the eventif the operation number (e.g. 99-9999) used in the package number does not have an counterpart in the ASRA catalogue. For this reason, please only use ASRA items. Sometimes, the text starts with "NON ASRA" or "KEIN ASRA". In these cases, thepackages can be filtered by a text, even if the original package text is not visible. In exceptional cases that areaccounted for, if no ASRA operation items can be used, consult the SPPS support team in confidence and check optionsfor coding of the texts.

You can filter by various values:

by model series (1 -6 characters)by construction group (2 characters) and characteristic operation number (4 characters) after the operation text.

In addition, packages can be filtered:

1. by steering system Both - both left-hand drive and also right-hand drive packages are displayedLeft - left-hand drive packages only are displayedRight - right-hand drive packages only are displayed

Filtering by steering is only available if the MPC accepts both left-hand drive and right-handdrive packages and confirms them by a corresponding setting.

2. by author own packages (i.e. the MPC or the dealer's own packages),the packages of the higher-level instance (HQ in MPC or MPC at dealer),the packages of the higher-level instance that have been adapted

This function can be used e.g. to find your own packages you created.

3. by time Last change (From, To): A date can be entered/selected in these fields. Then, during thesubsequent search, only those packages are displayed that were changed the last time betweenFrom and To. New packages approved by the market can thus be tracked simply.

If you want to find all packages changed after 22 Apr. 2013, this date must be entered in the"From" field, then all packages are selected and finally press "Search".

4. by parts Part number, ES1 and ES2: The part numbers, ES1 and ES2 of a valid part, can be entered inthese two fields. Then, during the subsequent search, only those packages are then displayedthat contain this part. To make it easier to find the desired part, you can press the Package

search button to open a part search dialogue. If you want to find all packages that contain the part Q 104 0001, this part must be enteredin the corresponding fields, then you must select all packages and press "Search".

5. by VIN When a complete VIN incl. WHC is entered, a query is made in FDOK whether this vehicle existsfollowed by the adjustment of the vehicle data card (as-built configuration of the vehicle) with theinformation included in the selected packages via SA code, SAA code and component information.

The keys support (from the left to the right).Copying the VIN from the fields to the clipboard,Copying the VIN from the clipboard to the fields, deleting all FIN fields andselecting a model series / a baumuster from a list.

One or more lines can be selected from the summarisation table. Several lines are selected using the mouse while keepingthe control key (Ctrl) pressed or by pressing the right mouse button and "Select all". A selection in the package filter removesan existing selection in the group list. All order and package groups that are visible to the user are displayed in the group list (after opening order groups). Amaximum of one package group can be selected from this list (tree). Making a selection in the group list removes an existingselection in the package filter.

After making a selection in the package filter or in the group list, the packages specified can be loaded with a button for thepackage search into the editing context of the selected function.

The separating bar between the package selection and the function and information area can be shifted and itsposition can be defined individually. The last position is saved.

WorkplaceThis view provides the user interfaces on various tabs for importing and exporting packages, for managing parts and for thedefinition of system settings. The tabs that are available depend on the rights of the user logged on.

Service managementMPC: The rules for service items, service codes and the service sheet can be displayed in this view.

Dealer: Corresponding entries are evaluated in this view for ASSYST A/B and ASSYST Plus , to be ableto give the customer a statement on the service due. The workshop code and, with model series204 and higher, the service code for the calculation of the service packages are evaluated atASSYST Plus.

Shopping cartAll packages are displayed in this view that were transferred from service management or package management to theshopping cart. The customer can be given a statement of the costs of the selected packages and the required duration of theservice. At the same time, the packages are written into a file that can be read by specific dealer management system in orderto create a workshop order.

Parts management – undefined parts

DescriptionIf the service packages on MPC level made available by Daimler AG contain part numbers which cannot be assigned whencomparing with the parts price range, refer to the undefined parts table to find these part numbers. The cause for this may bethat a parts number in the parts price range has been replaced and the replacement could not be taken into account when thepackage was generated, or that the numbers are Q numbers for fluids (merchandise). It is not technically possible to synchronise all basic data. To process the service packages in question, parts must be definedthrough relevant sources (e.g. EKOS, ETAS, PARAGON, SPICS, ...). Merchandise must always be defined.

Examples are all engine oils, windscreen cleaners ... the quality of the oil is described with a Q number by DaimlerAG (e.g. 229.5). These parts numbers must be defined appropriately and adapted to circumstances by the dealer. There are two ways of doing this:1. Defining the merchandise by price, discount group and description2. This is the case, for example, with service packages that contain part numbers foroil (Q numbers). The "part mapping" function is used to replace existing part numbers to ensure that the package data corresponds to the DealerManagement System data and can be transferred to the Dealer Management System without errors. Upon leaving the Workplace, thepackage administrator is requested to recalculate the packages. The "Part mapping" function is called up by going to "View/Workplace" and then the "Parts management" tab.

If service packages contain parts that permit the optional use of parts, the corresponding part numbers can beassigned.

If part mapping is created by the MPC, it is also created at all dealers automatically. All dealers are thenautomatically assigned with recalculating the package master. The next time the dealers start SPPS, they receive amessage indicating that the packages must be recalculated.

Defining the mapping ratioIn the case of part number mapping that also affects the parts scope (e.g. in the case of indications of quantity), the mapping ratiomust be defined.

A default mapping ratio of 1:1 is entered for each part number. Units may be entered only as whole numbers.

If the rounded result is 0, an information message appears and the mapping ratio must be re-entered.

Example:In a data package, one bottle of oil (5 l) is replaced with oil extracted from a 100 l barrel. In order to obtain the same amount of oil,20 bottles must be replaced with one barrel (enter 20:1 in the part mapping dialogue). When the ratio is entered, the system determines a value of 0.05 as the multiplier for the calculation, and the quantities and pricesare calculated accordingly.

Parts management – Import parts – Time-controlled import of the parts price file

There are different ways to provide, import and activate the parts price file. The step-by-step instructions describe one variant of importing theparts price file as an example.Example:A new parts price file whose content will be valid as from 1 January is being prepared. As the activation is scheduled to take place on a publicholiday and there will be no employee to carry out the activation, a time-controlled activation is set in SPPS. However, the parts price file is notavailable at the time the import is created, because of a delay in the upstream system. A time-controlled import is therefore also set for thenew parts price file.

Parts management – Import parts

The parts included in the service packages do not contain any information on the prices or discount groups. The "Import parts" function can beused to import a parts price file that establishes a connection between the part number from the service package and the information on thepart numbers stored in the parts price range (e.g. SPICS). In this process, the parts price data is compared with the package data and assignedaccordingly.

It is possible to control how the parts price data is handled during the import via the import options. After the parts price file has been activated successfully, a message window informs the user about the changed parts prices.Only Support can delete a pending job.

The "Import parts" function is called up by going to "View/Workplace" and then the "Parts management" tab.

Labour rates

DescriptionThe "Labour rates" tab allows you to maintain standard labour rates as well as create new price groups and assign these tocertain construction groups/jobs.In addition, it is also made possible to assign a price group to an entire assembly by entering '****' in the operation numberfield. Here, specific operations within an assembly, which have already been assigned (with '****') to a price group, will beassigned to another price group. The assignment between the assembly / operation number and the price can be made todepend upon the model, whereby the model can consist of a combination of numbers (only left) and placeholders (only right). This means that a price for operations on assembly 54 can cause differing costs for S-class vehicles, than for A-classvehicles.Important: A mixture of placeholders ('*') and numbers (e.g. 4* or 105*) is neither permissible in the assembly nor in theoperation number field. In the model field, there can be placeholders ('*') at the end of the entry. When working out the price, all of the matching price groups will first be determined. When working out the price for anoperation, the system first checks whether an assignment exactly matches this combination of assembly and operationnumber. If this is not the case, the system determines whether a price group has been globally assigned for the associatedassembly. If this also doesn't apply, then the standard sales price for the operation will be used. The assigned operation price groups will be calculated taking the set markups or discounts into account. During thecalculation, the labour rates are also applied when determining the margin per package.Changing a standard labour rate or a price group assignment will make it necessary to recalculate the package.

General description

Functions of packages processingAccept the packagesThe packages made available by Daimler AG or the MPC must first be taken (accepted) from theshopping cart. Only then can they be processed further. Packages can only be accepted when allparts are defined. The green package icon tells you if this is the case.

, Accept modified packagesThe packages made available by Daimler AG or the MPC which have been adapted in MPC or bythe dealer must first be taken (accepted) from the shopping cart and re-adjusted if necessary. Onlythen can they be processed further. Packages can only be accepted when all parts are defined. The green package icon tells you if this is the case. The exclamation mark, which sometimesappears on the folder icon, shows that the folder is not empty.

Editing groupsThe editing of order and package groups and especially the assignment of calculation rules forpackage groups allows the MPCs and the dealers to assign existing packages to their own pricesfor specific customer groups. For example, it is thus possible to grant X% discount on the list pricefor maintenance work for all government customers and Y% discount for all taxi-driver customers, while private customers are considered with special offers during particular campaigns.

Editing packagesPackage processing makes the adjustment of service packages made available by Daimler AGpossible. Parts can be added or deleted or the quantity thereof can be changed. Operationnumbers can be added (Note: do not forget the line number) or changed or the number of timeunits can be changed. Depending on the marketing strategy, service packages can be groupedindependently of the models (e.g.: oil change for all 4-cylinder petrol-engine vehicles). Deliveredservice packages can only be grouped by MPC. Dealers can only group their own packages.Depending on the role (MPC or dealer), certain functions are not available.

Calculating a packageThe service packages are subject to an automated standard calculation based on the parameterslaid out by the dealer/MPC, the part price from the national price range and the merchandise. Theindividual calculation occurs according to strategy and market situation using various calculationtypes. These are discount, markup on the purchase price, and target price. Furthermore, the wholepackage or only the parts contained therein can be included in the calculation. The wage component is represented by three different labour rates. No discounts are given onwages.Groups are needed to group service types which are independent of models.

, Calculating changed packagesThe "Changed packages" function is largely the same as the "Calculation" function. The differenceis that only fixed-price packages are displayed here if their list price has changed due to a changeto the master data (e.g. parts price or labour rate). It should be noted here that it may benecessary to carry out a recalculation for these packages. Otherwise the new price can beconfirmed. The exclamation mark, which sometimes appears on the folder icon, shows that thefolder is not empty.

Releasing packages (only MPC)The service packages made available by Daimler AG are first assigned to the corresponding MPC.This decides whether or not the delivered service packages are made available to the dealers.Forwarding service packages is only possible when all service packages are defined completely.

Withdrawing packages (only MPC)Packages approved by MPC and forwarded to dealers can be withdrawn using this function. Thisdeletes the selected packages from the dealer area completely. The packages remain available in

DescriptionNew order and package groups can be defined in this area and existing groups can be edited.Groups contain packages across baumusters, which belong together due to one or more characteristics (pricing, target group, configuration of vehicles - e.g. 6-cylinder). Order and package groups created in the MPC can only be modified in the MPC.Packages can only be assigned to such groups or from the groups in the MPC. The MPC order and package groups are - ifthey contain approved packages - also visible at the dealers. The contents of the MPC package groups may not be modifiedby dealers. DescriptionEntering a workshop code (from model series 211 on) or service code (from model series 204 on) together with the vehicledata means that service packages which match the workshop code/service code shown can be determined. When the VIN isentered, entering the workshop code allows an equipment-specific service to be worked out.The workshop code is calculated by the vehicle's maintenance computer and is not displayed to the customer. The serviceadvisor can read the workshop code using the instrument cluster or DAS and can use SPPS to give the customer preciseinformation about the service work required. The two-digit service code can be read by the customer in the instrument panel. The service advisor can use SPPS to givethe customer information about other service work which may be necessary. Because several workshop codes may be savedwith one service code, the service code does not give exact information about the service work due.

This display canbe used to query the data transmitted and, if necessary, to determine the appropriate service packages at the same time.First, one or more search criteria are entered into the entry fields. The "Find calls" button starts searching for received calls. The calls matching the search query are shown in the list. Double-clicking on the relevant entry opens the ASSYST PLUStab. All necessary data has already been entered and the search for service packages is started automatically.
