Silvan’s Powerhead® air delivery system is a revolutionary and efficient conveyor that helps produce an adjustable spray-laden air stream to match the shape and height of the canopy. It has been designed specifically for tree crops and will suit crops such as apples, pears, almonds and stone fruit which have low canopies.

The new design features internal vanes which direct the airstream into the canopy and maximise the fan’s output without the need for straightening vanes in the fan’s cowling. The result is a quieter operation with less tractor horsepower required.

The small top wings direct air from the fan into the canopy rather than allowing it to escape into the atmosphere. This aids in reducing the risk of spray drift from the sprayer.

The lower wings direct airflow from the Powerhead® into the canopy from underneath, opening up the interior for efficient spray penetration and when combined with up to 24 nozzles per side, make almost any application rate achievable.

By directing airflow into both the upper and lower regions of the target canopy the spray laden air is drawn into the centre through a venturi effect. The result is deeper and more even canopy penetration on both sides of the leaves while avoiding damage to fruit or flowers.

The patented air volute design maximises the use of the airflow generated by the 920mm fan, the Radak ensures thorough coverage of the targeted canopy by directing airflow into the foliage from underneath via the bottom wings. The venturi effect opens up the tree canopy to aid spray penetration and coverage.

Silvan’s Radak® conveyor is ideal for tall tree crops throughout Australia such as macadamias, avocados, mangoes, olives, citrus and lychees.

ONE SIDED VINEYARD CONVEYOR

Ideal for use in tree crops, the conveyor directs the air outwards and into the canopy increasing spray efficiency. • A vane at the top of the conveyor can be adjusted to

suit smaller canopies or early season growth.• Fibreglass construction with stainless

steel spray lines.• Flip-over Ceramic hollow cone nozzles on one side

provides accurate spray coverage and easy changeover for spraying at lower pressure.

SNORKEL - HELPS TO REDUCE DOWNTIME AND DAMAGE TO FRUIT

The Snorkel has been designed to help prevent damage to fruit caused by the delivery of air that includes sand and debris. It also helps to minimise downtime by avoiding blocked fan guards. The Silvan Snorkel is made from polytuff impact resistant polyethylene which is lightweight and robust and can be easily fitted to the fan cowl of most Silvan 900mm air assist units.

DOUBLE SIDED VINEYARD CONVEYOR

The Double sided vineyard conveyor is designed to maximise the air output of the 900mm axial flow fan when spraying a vertical canopy such as vines or trellis grown tree crops.There is no air lost from the top of the fan as it is all directed outwards and into the canopy. The adjustable double sided conveyor includes the following features:• Brings the air stream closer to the canopy• Maximises the air capacity of the fan for larger,

denser canopies• Stainless steel and poly construction• 12 flip over nozzles each side allows accurate spray

placement to canopy• Ceramic hollow cone jets on one side of flip over

nozzles for low pressure spraying• Adjustable vane in top of conveyor for smaller canopies

or early season growth

GLIDEFLEX SUSPENSION SYSTEMThe patented Glideflex suspension system ensures a smooth ride whether the tank is full or empty. This minimises wear and tear on the sprayer and tractor, and improves the ride comfort for the operator.

TANDEM SUSPENSION AXLE

The rugged durability of the Australian designed Simplicity tandem suspension axle gives a smoother ride over rough or uneven terrain. This optional axle assembly is designed to share the load over both wheels, reducing impact to the frame and spray heads and virtually eliminating body roll for faster travel and effective spray application.

WHEELS & TYRESMany of Silvan’s horticulture/viticulture sprayers can be fitted with a range of tyres and rims including ‘All Terrain’ tyres on 10.5 x 15” galvanised rims, ‘Multi-Rib’ tyres on 11 x 16” galvanised rims or ‘Gripster’ tyres on 12.5 x 18” galvanised rims (to suit boggy conditions such as those in Banana plantations). Note: Optional axles may be required to fit Gripster style tyres.

The Nobili VKD series mulchers are a medium duty, multi-purpose machine ideal for vineyard and orchard mulching, and for road side muching by councils. A double skin and a tailboard are fitted for durability which can be adjusted. A finer mulch is produced with two mulching bars, a restrictor bar and rakes. The VKD has side shift to the right with optional hydraulic side shift and height control is by an adjustable full width roller.

OS Oscillating Spreader

APPLICATION: The oscillating spreader is designed for precise application of fertiliser and seed at medium to low rates. The oscillating spreader will accurately apply product in twin bands (left and right) beneath trees in orchards whilst also being able to apply full coverage for top dressing. (NB. FINDING THE RIGHT PUMPSILVAN LINKAGE OR TRAILED SPRAYER

STEP 1 Determine the application rate, boom width (inms) and the tractor speed for the job.

STEP 2 Allow between 2% and 5% of the tank volume to be recirculated every minute to provide agitation. If venturi agitators are used, allow for the volume of liquid used by the venturi jet. When venturi’s are used they usually become the primary method of agitation so the allowance for the percentage of tank volume to be recirculated can be disregarded. There is always agitation from the pump (diaphragm or piston type) when it is in bypass mode.

STEP 3 Use the following formula to calculate the pump output required by the boom.

Pump output required (l/min) = Application rate (l/ha) x Speed (km/h) x Boom width (m) 600

STEP 4 Allow 2% tank volume for agitation (example 800 x 2% =16L/min.) Add this amount to required pump output for spraying to find total volume required from pump (example 20 + 16 = 36L/min).

STEP 5 Select a pump from the table at right to match required total output.

SILVAN AIR ASSIST SPRAYERSTEP 1 Determine the application rate (l/ha), the tractor speed and the row width of the crop

being sprayed. STEP 2 Allow between 2% and 5% of the tank capacity to be recirculated every minute for

agitation. The lower percentage can be used where mechanical agitation is fitted. STEP 3 Use the following formula to calculate the pump output required by the sprayer.

Pump output (l/min) = Application rate (l/ha) x Speed (km/h) x Row width (m) 600

STEP 4 Allow 2% tank volume for agitation (eg 2000 x 2% = 40L/min). Add this amount to required pump output for spraying to find the total volume required from the pump (example 83.3L/min + 40L/min = 123.3L/min).

STEP 5 Select a pump from the table above to match required total output. NOTE: From the above table either the APS 145 or APS 166 would be suitable, but the APS 166 will give more flexibility if larger application rates are needed.

Nozzle selection is often based upon droplet size. The droplet size from a nozzle becomes very important when the efficacy of a particular plant protection Chemical is dependent on coverage, or the prevention of spray leaving the target area is a priority.The majority of the nozzles used in agriculture can be classified as producing either fine, medium, coarse, or very coarse droplets. Nozzles that produce fine droplets are usually recommended for post-emergence applications,which require excellent coverage on the intended target area. The most common nozzles used in agriculture are those that produce medium sized droplets. Nozzles producing medium and coarse-sized droplets can be used for contact and systemic herbicides, pre-emergence surface-applied herbicides, insecticides and fungicides.An important point to remember when choosing a spray nozzle that produces a droplet size in one of the six categories is that one nozzle can produce differ-ent droplet size classifications at different pressures. A nozzle might produce medium droplets at low pressures, while producing fine droplets as the pressure is increased. Droplet size classes are shown in the following tables to assist in choosing an appropriate spray tip.

The following are the terms and conditions of sale for the goods shown herein. These terms may be changed at the company’s discretion by written notice to the customerShould these conditions of sale differ in any respect from the customer’s order, acceptance or confirmation then these conditions shall apply.Where the word ‘Company’ appears in these terms and conditions it means in all cases Silvan New Zealand Pty. Ltd.Prices: All prices shown are recommended prices only and exclude any dealer freight charges. Prices and prod-uct specifications are subject to alteration without notice. Purchase discounts (if any) will be allowed at the rates agreed in writing between the Company and the customer.GOODS AND SERVICES TAX (i) All amounts are tax exclusive amounts unless otherwise stated, all amounts expressed or described in

this agreement are GST exclusive amounts.

(ii) All amounts to be increased for any GSTSubject to paragraph (iv) of this section, if any GST within the meaning of the A New Tax System (Goods and Services Tax Act 1985 No 141 as amended from time to time, ‘GST’) is payable by any party (‘Supplier’) in respect of the supply of any goods, services, real property or any other things to another party (‘Recipient’), then the amount expressed or described in this Agreement (‘Original Amount’) is to be increased so that the Supplier receives an amount (‘Increased Amount’) which, after subtracting the GST liability of the Supplier on that Increased Amount, results in the Supplier retaining the Original Amount after payment of that GST liability.

(iii) Supplier to assist RecipientThe Supplier will do all things reasonably available to it to assist the Recipient to claim on a timely basis any input tax credits (if any) the Recipient may be entitled to claim for any acquisition of goods, services, real prop-erty or any other thing from the Supplier. This includes the Supplier maintaining its registered status for GST purposes, and issuing tax invoices for supplies made under this Agreement on a timely basis as reasonably requested by the Recipient.

(iv) Amounts to be reduced for benefits of GST related reformsThe Supplier acknowledges that under the GST Law the Supplier is required, from the date the GST is imposed, and at all times that GST related tax reform takes effect, to reduce the consideration payable by the Recipient to the extent that the cost to the Supplier of supplying any goods, services, real property or other things under this Agreement is reduced by the abolition or reduction in other taxes which would otherwise be payable by the sup-plier in respect of the goods or services supplied under this agreement. Delivery: Prices shown are ex warehouse from our Hamilton Branch except where the company has agreed to supply goods free into store.The risk in the goods, shall unless otherwise agreed in writing pass to the Customer upon despatch from the Company’s warehouse, except where the goods are carried in the Company’s own vehicles or where a free in store contract has been agreed, when the risk in the goods shall pass upon delivery to the Customer or their agent. The Company is not responsible for loss or damage of goods in transit except when the goods are carried in the Company’s own vehicles.Delivery dates are approximate only and no liability is accepted for delay from any cause whatsoever. If delivery is hindered by any cause or reason beyond the Company’s control, the Company may extend the time for deliv-ery or if the Company is unable to complete, the contract shall be voidable at the Company’s option with no right to either party for any damage, loss, cost or expense or otherwise. Terms: Unless otherwise stated payment is strictly within 30 days from the end of the month in which the goods are purchased. Liability: Property in and title to goods provided from time to time by the Company to the customer shall remain with the Company for all amounts due to the Company by the customer. However the goods will be at the risk of the customer as soon as they are delivered to or to the order of the customer. Property in and title to the goods shall remain with the Company even if the goods become affixed to or incor-porated in other goods. Where the Company has received payment for the goods by means of cheque, payment in full shall not be deemed to have occurred until such time as the customer’s cheque has been cleared and credited to the Company’s banking account. The Company, its’ employees, servants or agents are at liberty to enter upon the customer’s premises and retrieve goods which were provided by the Company to the customer where the customer has not paid for the goods or other goods supplied by the Company. Warranty: Conditions of Warranty are detailed on the Warranty forms accompanying all equipment. Our Warranty cov-ers faulty workmanship and materials and only genuine claims from our Servicing agents will be accepted for assessment. Travelling, communication and transportation costs are not covered by warranty and must be borne by the Customer. Damage during transport is not covered by warranty. Claims should be made directly by the consignee to the carrier. Nothing in this agreement shall be construed.a) To be a waiver of any of the provisions herein by virtue of the failure on the part of either party hereto to

enforce its rights or to exercise any option or discretion herein or to prejudice the later exercise of such rights, options or discretion’s.

b) To extend the application of these Terms and Conditions beyond that permitted by Law. Where a right or rem-

edy which is capable of exclusion, restriction or modification is granted to the Customer by Law, and that Law allows the Company to limit its liability with respect to that right or remedy, then the liability of the Company is limited solely to, a liability to pay to the Customer an amount equal to:

(i) The cost of replacing the goods (ii) The cost of obtaining equivalent goods; or (iii) The cost of having the goods repaired. whichever is the lowest amount.

AVAILABILITYProducts within this Price List are available through authorised Silvan dealers only. TERMSWill be the terms agreed with the seller. PRICESAll prices are suggested list prices in New Zealand dollars. Prices are subject to change without prior notice. For stocking incentive programmes refer to your individual trading terms, or contact our customer service staff on 07 849 6030. FREIGHT CHARGESPrices are ex Silvan Distribution Centre in Hamilton. Check with our warehouse supervisor for freight charges into your area. Freight and handling charges will be added to the invoice amount. MINIMUM ORDER VALUEA $50 dealer nett + GST Minimum Order Value is required for standard orders. Orders under this value will attract a $20 + GST handling charge. Urgent or breakdown orders do not have a required Minimum Order Value, and attract a $20 + GST priority fee. RETURNS POLICY Before returning any product to Silvan, a Return Authorisation (RA) Number and approval form must be obtained from Silvan Customer Service by phoning 07 849 6030. Goods WILL NOT be accepted without an RA number and form. CANCELLATIONS:1. Cancellations made on the same day the order was placed:

a. If the stock has not been picked, no handling fee will apply b. If the stock has been picked, a 15% restocking fee will apply or a minimum of $10 plus freight

2. Cancellations made after the day the order was placed, a 15% restocking fee will apply plus frieght

3. PROCURED ITEMS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE

GOODS RETURN: 1. All returns must be requested within 14 days of the invoice date 2. Goods will only be accepted for credit if they are returned

undamaged and in saleable condition in the original packaging3. Return freight will be paid by the Customer if the goods are

returned at the Customers volition, unless authorized by the Company in writing prior to return of the goods

4. Electronic and electrical components are not returnable5. All written claims must reference Silvan invoice numbers, and

must be dated and state the reason for the claim6. A 15% restocking fee will be applied if the goods have been

dispatched according to your order or a minimum of $10 plus freight

7. Return of products valued under $50 nett + GST will not be accepted if they had been dispatched according to your order

CLAIMS:Pricing & Freight Claims need to be made within 14 days of the invoice date. Any credits after this for pricing discrepancies will not be accepted.Claims for Freight Damage need to be made on arrival inspected and noted on Truck consignment note of damage. Claims received after this will not be accepted. If freight damage has not been logged with Silvan at the time the order is received by yourselves and noted on the con-note docket, the claim will be invalid.
