Foliage 10 ml in 60 ml of water Apply as coarse droplets in 30 cm2 patches around trees and plants. 70 ml of solution will make approximately 9 patches. Reapply every 7 days and immediately after rain. Rotate patch positions each week. No withholding period.

Non-foliage baiting

10 ml in 15 ml of water Apply as coarse droplets to a 30cm2 non-absorbent board and hang mid-canopy amongst foliage. Reapply every 7 days and immediately after rain. No withholding period.

SITUATION RATE HOW TO APPLY

If the solution runs off the leaves or board add less water until it is thick enough to stick. Some water must be added to activate the product.Diluted solution will not store. Mix up fresh each time.Mango and pear skins are sensitive to the spray and may burn. Avoid spraying this fruit directly.

Spraying should commence early as fruit can be stung when young and green. In fruit fly areas start spraying when fruit is 1cm diameter or when the eco-lure monitoring trap starts catching flies.

Fruit fly populations are increasing across Australia as our winters become milder and people neglect their fruiting plants. Following are some tips to win the war:• Set up monitoring traps (see below).• Start spraying eco-naturalure when males first appear in the trap or when fruit is 1cm diameter. Flies are becoming active earlier each year and will sting rock hard green fruit. Spraying early will prevent their numbers escalating later in the season.• Apply as large coarse droplets, not a fine mist. This helps the product stay moist for longer and remain attractive to the flies.• Spray around chicken pens and compost bins as these areas will also attract fruit flies.• Clean up fallen fruit immediately and seal in plastic bags. Place in the bin or leave in the sun for several days to kill any maggots and then compost them.

fruit fly season. The wick contains a sex pheromone that attracts male Queensland fruit flies and an insecticide which rapidly kills them. The insecticide is not organic but is contained within the trap. Check trap regularly and once flies appear start spraying eco-naturalure to protect fruit. Wicks should be replaced every 3 months.
