Chevron Nemba HPCI Stage 1 Project Completed

By Donnie Sinitiere

After twenty (20) months offshore and 2.9 million man hours the HPCI Project offshore Angola has been successfully completed on schedule and under budget. This world class project was started in January 2007 and completed February 2011. All phases of the project were completed safely with no DAFW (Days Away From Work) and an excellent TRIR (Total Recordable Incident Rate) ratio.

During the course of the offshore campaign the project also executed two planned platform shut-in’s ahead of schedule resulting in a significant savings of loss production to CABGOC. A reduced crew is continuing to work with the Chevron start up and commission-ing team to bring the compressors on line. The Nemba HPCI project is among the largest and most complex project undertaken by Dii and the success for the project is due to the hundreds of men from around the world who worked on the project, and who were committed to executing the work safely. This team effort included the fabrication crews in our yards in New Iberia, the international crew working offshore, many excellent sub-contractors and Dynamic’s operations based in Luanda, Angola. There is not enough room in our newsletter to list the names of all the outstanding people who were part of this project. The project truly was an integrated team effort that produced a very successful pro-ject for all of the major stake holders; Chevron, CABGOC and Sonagol. Everyone in the Moreno Group can be proud of being part of a company with the capability and a proven track record of executing world class projects safely, on schedule and under budget.

Chevron South Nemba Restoration Project (SNRP) - Angola

By Donnie Sinitiere

Dynamic Angola, LLC has moved more personnel and equipment over for the offshore portion of this project (SNRP) as the HPCI project is near completion on South Nemba “A” platform. DAL received a contract from CVX Facilities Engineering on February 1, 2011 for the fabrication, installation and hook up of a new turbine compressor that was destroyed in a flash fire on SNA in May of 2010. After the fire on South Nemba “A” platform the DAL crews assisted CABGOC getting the platform in a safe condition to bring the platform back on line and enable the construction crews to resume the HPCI project. Significant damage was incurred on two decks impacting all of the production systems. In October 2010 crews were allocated to do this restoration work offshore while fabrication of pancake decks, spool piping and other structural members were being fabricated in New Iberia. Since October DAL has had a dedicated crew offshore working on the SNRP Project while another dedicated crew completed the HPCI Project. The separate project crews have been working simultaneously both day and night shifts. The SNRP Project is scheduled for completion in July 2011. The New Iberia West Yard is doing the fabrication which is being flown to Angola for installation offshore. This Project is a very significant and high profile project for CABGOC and Chevron. Since the fire

in May CABGOC are having to flare an additional 180 million cubic feet of gas per day. This is a significant amount of production and revenue that is being lost every day until the compressor is brought back on line. DAL is very excited to participate in this project allowing us provide Dynamic’s services to another segment of Chevron. Currently the project is on schedule and anticipates starting the newly restored turbine and compressor on July 6, 2011.

Doing Our Part Getting Deepwater Drilling Going in the Gulf

By Rusty Slate

After spending the better part of 2 weeks onboard HP1, taking care of some mainte-nance issues, I had been looking forward to a relaxing weekend watching some good ol’ SEC college football, and particularly my team Auburn play Mississippi State. Everything was going just fine Saturday, my team was still undefeated, I’ve been working steady and in a week we were to start up with a large upgrade on HP1 for Well Containment. Then the phone rang around 8:00pm Saturday night; it was Mr. Tony Owen, the OIM onboard HP1. He was shut in due to high seas which was causing problems with the buoy attached to the ship. Mr. Owen requested that we re-mob immediately with an additional 6 welders to weld it to the lower QCDC. My initial concern was how could I get the crew to re-mobilize on a Saturday night, but no problem everyone answered the call except the welders. With help from weld-ers from another contractor the work got underway, and so began a long journey to install permanent well containment capabilities. This work started in October and, due to numerous revisions and the unique type of work and equipment, (some of it the only one of its type in the world), we are now at March 6, working long hours and double shifts but all for a worthwhile cause to get deepwater drilling in the Gulf back on track. With work almost complete the govern-ment has issued the first deep water drilling permit with promises to issue others as companies sign on to the Well Containment Partnership…..Mission Accomplished. Our job is done and I would like to thank all the support I received from everyone in the office; Karl, Rocky, Shawn, George and I would especially like to thank my back to back relief person Doug Smith who did a great job. We can all say we did our part in getting the industry as a whole back on track with drilling opening back up.

Secure File Transfer of Large Attachments By Marc Lerro

We are pleased to announce the addition of a new program that will allow you to send and receive file attachments significantly larger than the current capacity of 10MB. In accordance with the company IT Policy this addition is to be used for the transmission of com-pany related business only. Below are the details of how this program will operate, answers to possible questions and contact infor-mation for any help you may need.

Send files (up to 350 MB) securely through Microsoft Outlook Eliminate the security risk of external file transfer sites, USB sticks, CDs

The Moreno Group, LLC has successfully completed the roll-out of the Accellion Secure File Transfer application. You will now see the Accel-lion Secure File Transfer icon in the Microsoft Outlook toolbar. Starting now, all employees will be able to use the secure file transfer application to send and receive company related information for files larger than 10 MB.

What Does Secure File Transfer Do? This application enables you to securely send files up to 350 MB directly from Microsoft Outlook without having to use an external 3rd party personal file transfer account, thumb-drives or CDs—all of which pose a security risk to the Moreno Group. The secure file transfer application integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Outlook. Secure file transfer will automatically “kick in” when a file larger than 10 MB is sent.

How Do I Send a Secure File To Someone Outside of the Company? If you need to securely send and receive files with someone outside of the Moreno Group, you simply compose your email and attach the large file you wish to send. Once the recipient registers and retrieves the file, they will have the ability to send files back to you. Alternatively, you can log on to http://dropbox.morenogroupllc.com and select the “Request File” button, which will notify the external party that you want to securely exchange files with them. Send Secure Files from Anywhere! You can also access the secure file transfer application when away from the office by logging into http://dropbox.morenogroupllc.com

How Long will the Files be Available? Any files that you send or receive via the Accellion application will be available for 10-days. After that time period they will no longer be avail-able on the system.

How Do I Get Started? To use the new service two things must be installed on your computer. These installs will happen automatically. The first is a change to the reg-istry on your PC. This registry change will be “pushed” to your PC via the network once you restart your PC.

The second change will be the actual installation of the Outlook Accellion plug-in. It’s important to note that, once the Outlook Accellionplug-in has been automatically installed you will again be asked to re-start your PC to complete the installation.

The first time you run Outlook an Accellion account will be automatically created for you enabling you to start sending large attachments through Outlook from this point on.

CONTACT: If you have questions, or do not see the Accellion Secure File Transfer icon (image below) when creating a new email message in Microsoft Out-look, please contact the Help Desk ([email protected])

Wedding Announcements

East Yard’s Official Baker Troy Broussard

By TJ Blanchard

Employees at dii’s East Yard look forward to the end of the month as Troy Broussard is the “official” cake baker. Each month Troy bakes a cake to celebrate the birthday of any staff having a birthday that month. Here he is shown with January’s delicacy, a German choco-late cake. When not at his labor of baking, Troy enjoys golfing, bike riding and is active in his church activities and in all levels of govern-ments. All at dii’s East Yard man office are lucky to have a talented baker amongst them.

More bells will be ringing in March as following are 3 weddings to take place

Kayla Newton (SSS Controller Assistant) and Gary Hotard tied the knot on March 7. Nicole Manser (SSS Collections) and Donald Schonfeld were married on March 19. And Renee Louviere (SSS Sales Assistant) and Hannaniah Owens made March 26 their special day. Congratulations and our best wishes to all the happy couples!

We would like to extend our con-gratulations to Keisha Saenz Perez, (Dynamic Industries Insurance Spe-cialist) on her marriage to Miguel Saenz Perez. Keisha and Miguel were married on January 4.
