• Course Goals/Objectives• Course Goals/Objectives

This course is designed to help students build a solid knowledge base of common methods and applications in organic synthesis. Reaction mechanisms are emphasized for understanding chemical reactivity and predicting g y p greaction outcomes.

You are expected to read each assigned chapter in BruiceYou are expected to read each assigned chapter in Bruice before the class period in which that chapter is discussed. A successful Chem 100 student will prepare by reading the book, attend lectures, ask questions, and do many practice problems.

H k Y d t d bl i thHomework: You are encouraged to do problems in the textbook. Problem sets will be posted on CROPS each Thursday afternoon and will be collected during the y gsubsequent class.
