Spring 2014 Seasonal NewsletterTRANSCRIPT
After a very long and cold winter, it’s time to open up the campers, air out the awnings, see some old friends, and meet some new ones. We hope you will join us for our annual Seasonal Spring Fling get-‐together. CCV will be supplying hot dogs, burgers, chips, and drinks. If you wish, you may bring desserts, salad, casserole, or any other treat to pass, but it is not necessary. After the cookout, we hope you will stay for our annual seasonal information session. There will be introductions of new seasonal campers and new CCV staff as well as returning seasonals and staff, followed by a discussion of additions and changes to CCV for the 2014 season. Food and fun will begin at 3:00 PM, please RSVP by May 26, 2014. Call (603) 323-‐8536.

Spring Seasonal Cookout: Saturday, May 31 at 3:00PM
To protect our forest and your vacation spot, CCV does not permit any firewood, of any kind, from
WOOD: Buy it where you Burn It anywhere, (including local venders) to be brought into the campground by the camper. CCV defines wood as any type of wood you would burn in a campfire or woodstove including: kindling, pallets, and construction boards. Seasonal truckloads of wood are available for $45.00; please make all requests for Seasonal Loads at the Campground Office.
Please only rake leaves into a pile at the end of your site so they can be easily picked up by the tractor. Please do not rake them into the bushes, over hills, or between sites. If seasonal sites are not raked by June 15, 2014, CCV will rake your sites and charge a hourly labor and maintenance fee .

This year at CCV, we would like to make the
Seasonal Community “Better than Ever”. We are
encouraging the formation of a Seasonal Camping
Committee who will meet once a week, or once every
other week. The Committee will be in charge of organizing
potlucks, tournaments such as Texas Hold ‘Em,
horseshoes, and chess, and other various themed events
for the seasonal community. Mercedes Hemmer will
frequently attend the seasonal committee meetings to
help aid in organization and communications.
One of the first goals of the seasonal committee
will be to create a calendar of events for the 2014 Season.
CCV has created calendar template with suggested events
throughout the summer and suggested dates, and we
would like to get input from the seasonal community.
More information on the Seasonal Committee will be
presented at the Spring Seasonal Cook-‐Out on May 31st.
CCV -‐ KOA
There is no doubt that CCV is one of the most beautiful campgrounds in New Hampshire, and we thank our seasonal guests for pitching in. From gorgeous landscaping, to decorative patio displays, our seasonal campers do an excellent job each year sprucing up the campground. To keep CCV “BEE-‐UTIFUL” and increase aesthetic value, we ask all our seasonal guests to remove any extra patio blocks and materials not in use by June 15, 2014. After June 15, CCV will be removing any excess blocks or building material from sites. At all times, please ensure that sites are kept clean, rubbish picked up, and toys put away at the end of each day. As always, we appreciate your help in beatifying our campground!
Seasonal Camping Committee All seasonal sewage hookups should be connected by means of solid drainage pipes, not accordion tubing. If a seasonal guest needs solid drainage pipes installed on their site/camper CCV will be able to accommodate with a $60 connectivity fee.
Sewage Piping
We ask that all seasonal campers pressure wash their units at least once a year. If you would like CCV to pressure wash your unit, we will be more than happy to for a fee of $20/hour.
Please Pressure Wash
If you will be having your four legged friend(s) join you this summer, please stop in the office and bring an up-‐to-‐date copy of your dog(s) Rabies.
Updated Dog Papers
CCV only allows wood on sites to be covered with a green or brown tarp. Wood quantities will be limited to one CCV truckload of wood, approximately 12 CCV bundles.
Green And Brown Tarps
Temporary, small, two-‐persons, “pup” tents intended for children under the age of 17 may be used on seasonal sites. Tents should not be used for guests and should be taken down when not in use.

campsites have been damaged by black bears and we have had to remove the feeders and the birdseed from the sites and placed them at the office. Please see the office if you are missing a bird feeder from your site. Also, we would like to emphasize being careful around all wildlife. Do not approach the bears or other wildlife. Most wildlife will scare easily once you make noise. If you encounter a bear, remain calm, do not run, in a low firm voice say “Go Away Bear”, and make sure you never turn your back to the bear. It is important not to antagonize the bear or make threatening movements. When hiking on the nature trails, it is safest to travel in groups, so be sure to bring a friend on your hike. If you are hiking with your pets, be sure to keep them on a leash. You do not want your pup running into the woods and accidentally surprising a bear. Bears will find your dog threatening or challenging and can place you in a dangerous situation. If you encounter a mother bear and her cub(s), walk away slowly, do not make any sudden movements, and talk in a low, quiet, calming voice indicating you mean no harm.
We recently had a few furry unwanted visitors to the campground. It is important to take down all bird feeders this time of year to avoid attracting local black bears. Several bird feeders on seasonal
