Let It All Be Many people today are not enjoying their lives; the news we see each day is only part of the reason. Our American culture encourages us to want things our way; many of us have become people who want to con-trol our lives so that we get the things we crave and avoid the things we do not want. However, this belief set us up for unhappiness as it is never possible to always avoid the things we do not want or get the things we do want. What would happen if we learned to just enjoy our lives, regardless of what is going on? Yes, there are times we all face difficult situations, but even then, the first thing we have to do is accept that this is the situation. Join Shirley Mahood for a discussion of how we can all enjoy the life we have now.

Diabetes, in fact, is one of the most under-diagnosed, yet often fatal conditions. Many complications can arise from the development and progression of this disease. Connections have been made to heart disease, strokes, kidney disease, and blindness just to name a few. The common understanding about diabetes, regardless of type, severity, or level of progression, has always been that it is irreversible. Increasing research, however, has disproved this and offers solutions for both prevention and reversal of diabetes with various lifestyle choices. During this experience, you will finally get the chance to reclaim your health and win the fight against diabetes.

Safe Space and CMD Defense Safe Space simply teaches you situational awareness. It also provides you with self-defense tips if you find yourself in a precarious position. Statistically, attacks on seniors occur infrequently. However, if you are one of those who have been a victim, statistics are irrelevant. This SAFE SPACE segment takes you back to the basics and re-emphasizes what you probably once knew but forgot along the way. We also know that the longer we remain on this earth, the more opportunity there is to become victims of deception. We all know there are those who wish to take advantage of our good nature or gullibility by attempting to manipulate our thought processes and behavior. Whether a sales gimmick, media slant, political discourse or just a lie someone told you, without some form of training, we often never discover what the liar doesn’t want us to know. Liars engage in cognitive manipulation and it is the foundation to every lie ever told. In this segment, I teach you how to avoid Cognitive Manipulation and Deception with CMD Defense using a simple program called Do It Yourself with S.H.I.E.L.D. Analysis. This course consists of five two-hour classes designed to

take you from learning about situational awareness and safety to discovering how to identify deception in both written and spoken formats. The instruction is designed for adults but simple enough to be taught to young and old alike. You don’t need to be a forensic psychologist to take this course; just someone who needs to be situationally aware and who is tired of the continued attempts to manipulate you through lies and deceit. Take the whole course and rediscover your intuition!

The Autoimmune Matrix While it is true genes do come into play with autoimmune diseases, we also have control over how our genes are expressed. According to the field of epigenetics, our environment, lifestyle choices, and dietary habits all have the ability to turn on certain genes that can cause the development of autoimmune complications. Al-though conventional medicine believes the only true weapon against autoimmunity is drugs (which only mask the symptoms and suppress the immune system), research has shown that there are many effective, alterna-tive treatments. Health is represented in different forms such as chemical, physical and emotional and it is im-perative to address all of these simultaneously in order to achieve optimal health. Join Dr. Timko to learn how to take control of your health by getting to the root of autoimmunity, addressing deficiencies, and becoming a more active participant in your healing process.

History of American Markets and the Constitution

This course will scan American history and two of its primary characteristics: markets and governance. Join us as we examine how America came to be this big, powerful economic force while inadvertently helping the globe elevate billions out of poverty. We’ll begin the American journey with the early colonial days and its struggles with the economically dominating but nearly bankrupt England. We’ll explore the founding period and then the 19th and 20th century progressive periods and their effects on America. Discover how we move from a small government to our present-day expansive but non-representative form. Finally, discover the two Constitutional clauses that are primarily responsible for most of what ails America today including possible solutions.

The Unquiet Shades of The Little Big HornThe American film industry has produced more than 60 films and even a TV series with the exploits of George Custer as a focal point. If you grew up watching the Westerns of the 50’s and 60’s, it is likely you have been exposed to copious amounts of misinformation regarding the Little Big Horn Battle at Greasy Grass in late June of 1876. This class will focus on three films. By watching the same scene from films made over a 60-year span, the class will be exposed to changing interpretations of history. With the discovery of new evidence and the acceptance of new perspectives, even serious history evolves. Given the vested interests of politicians, the U.S. Army, Libby Custer, and others, the Custer narrative has been distorted since the sound of the last shot faded away. The class will attempt to expose the truth regarding this most famous battle.

Hollywood vs. History: The War that Changed the World Forever: The American Revolution! The American Revolution was unique in many ways. Of the European Colonies in the Western Hemisphere they were the first to break away from the “Mother Country” and actually fight for their independence. Interest-ingly enough the American colonists while losing most of the battles versus the British military actually won the war. The movie “The Patriot” does a good job showing how this may have happened. But many other things depicted in the movie have little to no historical accuracy. What were these things? Why would Hollywood do this? Hollywood also takes liberties when dealing with Lord Cornwallis and a Colonel Tavington. It also is quite interesting how they deal with the French. The general public deals with movies like this as if they are docudramas. Is this good or is there a better way of dealing with it. On the first date, the lecture will run 2:00 - 3:30 pm. On the second date, the movie “The Patriot” will be shown 2:00 - 4:30 pm. Which country paid the most for victory and received much in return? Price Paid? Received? 3. Which country paid much for victory, but received almost nothing in return? 4. Where and by which country was the precedent set for the establishment of post war European governments? 5. What did the USSR want from the USA at the end of the war? 6. Was the USSR trying to get along with the USA at the war’s end? 7. How is our interpretation of these wars evolving.

Selecting and Using a Handgun for Self-Defense and/or Target ShootingIn this class, we have a “hands-on” examination of many popular models and styles of handguns, both revolvers and semi-automatics, to help you make informed decisions on what might be best for YOU if you are thinking of making a handgun purchase. This is a great way to fine tune your choices before you venture out to the store to make a purchase. You will learn what might work for you, and as important, what might not work for you. We will review basic safety issues, and the fundamentals for proper safe handling and shooting, including loading and unloading, grip, stance, aiming, trigger control etc., all done in a safe controlled environment. Next comes the fun part! Using some of the models you have examined, we will load them with laser cartridges. This is a non-firing (i.e. no bullet) 100% safe round of ammunition that “shoots” a laser pulse at electronic targets. By doing this you will quickly learn how to safely use the controls of several handguns and can shoot them in a virtual real-world setting. Since you are “shooting” real handguns, the experience is the same as would be at live-fire range, except there is no noise or recoil to distract you from learning. Again, being that there is no projectile...no bullet...this is a 100% SAFE activity.

SCIENCE & RELIGION

The Science Behind Alien Encounters: UFOs Are RealOn Tuesday, September 17, 2019, the U.S. Navy acknowledged, for the first time, that for years Navy pilots have been filming objects which they cannot identify, and which have flight performance characteristics well beyond anything our government possess. Our generation is not the first to experience encounters that defy earthly explanation and is evidenced even in ancient beliefs. Dr. Farrell will review the history showing that we are being visited. Well-known and respected rocket scientists such as Werner von Braun and Hermann Oberth have stated a belief that UFOs are not of this earth and are able to manipulate or create gravitational fields as a means of propulsion. How do UFOs accelerate at one hundred g’s and make right angle turns without harming the occupants? How do they change colors, and “cloak” themselves? Is it even possible to create gravitational field propulsion? What research is being done in this area? What are the religious implications of ET contact? This lecture will explain what credible UFO witnesses have described, is not magic and can be explained in a nuts-and-bolts fashion anyone with a high school degree can understand. This lecture has been given over 90 times around the country and has enthralled audiences since 2004.

The Science Behind Creation of OUR Universe WITHOUT a Big BangIn this PowerPoint lecture Dr. Farrell discusses the history of astronomy and cosmology citing paradigm shifts that have occurred since Ptolemy. He then proceeds to discuss various hypotheses about the origin of the universe including the popular Big Bang theory and its weaknesses. There are no “proofs” for the Big Bang theory and advocates are constantly having to create band-aids to correct its faults. Dr. Farrell presents and alternative theory which uses the same data as the Big Bang theory but does not violate the laws of physics or require mysterious dark energy. This presentation will challenge the dogma and offer a new insight for those curious about the universe and the world around us.

The Science Behind Gravitational Field Propulsion: Key to Interstellar Travel

Propulsion by gravitational fields is possible and perhaps is already being done by our military. In this PowerPoint lecture, the difference between gravitational field propulsion and impulse propulsion, such as is done with rockets and jets, will be explained as well as the advantages of field propulsion over impulse propulsion. How will it be possible for occupants to survive 100 g accelerations without being harmed? Being able to accelerate at 100 g’s or greater without harming the occupants will allow trips to the moon in 20 minutes and trips to nearby stars in a few days. Dr. Farrell explains how it is theoretically possible (according to Einstein) to create gravitational fields and the research being done in the laboratory to create gravitational fields. Does the Air Force’s B-2 bomber use gravitational fields to enhance lift? These and other questions are addressed.

The Science Behind Noah’s Flood: Redemption of Zecharia Sitchin Have you ever wondered if the story of Noah in the Bible is true? The evidence is overwhelming that it is true. In Dr. Farrell’s PowerPoint presentation, he discusses Sir Leonard Wooley’s discovery that removed any doubt that there was a major deluge as described in the Old Testament. Ancient stories such as the Sumerian Epic of Gilgamesh and Atra-hasis, the Babylonian epic that predate the Old Testament, will be discussed. Several scientific investigations into Noah’s flood which include Charles Hapgood’s “Shifting crust...” theory, Dr. Walter Brown’s Hydroplate Theory, Noah’s Flood theory by Dr.’s Pitman and Ryan, Dr. Bruce Massee’s Impact Theory, and the late Zecharia Sitchin’s melting glacier theory. An extrapolation of Sitchin’s theory will be presented arguing that the deluge event recorded by the Babylonians and Sumerians occurred in Mesopotamia about 14,800 years ago and was a result of the Post Glacial Sea Rise. The recent discovery of the world’s oldest monolithic ruins, Gobekli Tepe, in southern Turkey, tie this theory to the story of Noah and his ancestor, Abraham.

The Science Behind the “Mummies” of Nazca, Peru

Something historic is happening in Nazca, Peru. In early 2017 several “unusual” bodies and parts of bodies were examined after being given to the Inkari Institute in Cusco, Peru in late 2016. The location of the find as well as the name of the discoverer have been kept secret to prevent grave-robbing. All of the bodies are hominid but have only three fingers and three toes. The bodies have all been preserved for perhaps thousands of years and have not had any internal organs removed. Some of the bodies are believed to be reptilian and one has four eggs that show in x-rays. Maria has been carbon dated to have died about 1700 years ago and “Wawica”, a baby found near Maria has been dated to 670 years ago. The genetic studies indicate that both Maria and Wawica have only about 25% human-like DNA. Both bodies may have ended in a violent death by predator animals. The lecture will discuss the controversy about the authenticity of these bodies and will present data for the audience to evaluate. Are these bodies a fake, a new branch from the tree of evolution, or are they from another planet? Either way, the find is fascinating and historic.

During class number one, the instructor will share with you the step by step process to turn your book into a PDF file, submit it to Amazon’s Create space and produce a 6x9 professional looking paperback that cost only a few dollars for each copy printed. In class number two, the instructor will share what he has learned about marketing a self-published book and how to create your writing and publishing “brand” including the use and creation of your own web site. Attendees need a reasonable proficiency with computers and will be performing editing, formatting and creative functions. The instructor operates on Microsoft equipment, but the information can be of value for MAC users.

DAY/DATE: Fridays, 3/13 & 3/20 (2 sessions) TIME: 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM PORA Members $20, all others $25 Instructor: Tom Struve

Practical Journaling Journaling has many purposes, most of which are not effective because the user hasn’t committed to the goal of journaling or hasn’t matched the journal’s purpose with the writer’s goals. Practical journaling serves a variety of purposes. Journals may include photos, drawings, growth, instructions, dreams, reflections or a combination. They may span large projects in writing, memoirs, gardening, cooking; whatever the desire. Daily prompts can be useful for journaling. Sharing a journal by writing back and forth with someone is a wonderful way of connecting. Ideas are endless and journaling can become a productive habit.

DAY/DATE: Fridays, 1/24 – 2/28 (6 sessions) TIME: 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM PORA Members $30, all others $35 Instructor: Linda Chamley Johnson

Robert Frost: Poet of the Common TouchThe original presidential inauguration poet was Robert Frost. Maybe you saw him there in DC via early television or later on the news film.
