CAMP CHEN‐A‐WANDA ‐ http://www.campcaw.com TABLE #24 Camp Chen‐A‐Wanda is a 7‐week –long summer camp for over 500 campers aged 7‐16 located in Thompson, Pennsylvania. Chen‐A‐Wanda employs over 300 seasonal staff members every summer to fill roles varying from counselors and activity specialists who live in the bunks with campers, to cooks and kitchen staff, to supervisory roles and directors of programming. Our counseling staff each summer is made up almost entirely of college students from all over America and the U.K. who are looking for experience with children, a slice of adventure, and an opportunity to meet amazing new people. Our staff members enjoy a competitive summer salary along with room and board for their entire 8‐week stay at our camp, making Camp Chen‐A‐Wanda a desirable landing spot for college students every summer. The Center provides a safe and secure environment for delinquent youth between the ages of 10‐17 who the Courts have determined are in need of a secure placement while a determination is made to the appropriate disposition for the youth. The Center is a 14 bed, co‐ed facility that emphasizes the education of the youth, the physical and mental health of the youth and the learning of life skills that will help them in their future. CENTRE COUNTY CHILDREN & YOUTH SERVICES ‐ http://www.centrecountypa.gov TABLE #22 The Centre County Office of Children and Youth Services furnishes social services to children and youth and their families throughout Centre County. The office works with families where there are problems concerning the safety and well‐being of their children and/or youth to identify problem areas and to deal effectively in resolving the difficulties. If it is a case of suspected abuse or neglect of children, the office determines if the allegation is true, and takes the necessary steps to protect the child. Placement services outside a child's family are available if parents are unable or unwilling to provide care to their children and there are no other feasible alternatives.
