OVERVIEW

Benefit from:

In-depth training on regulatory framework of EU Food Law

+

Practical case studies and group work

+

Expert guidance by food lawyers and practitioners

+

Detailed discussion of your individual questions

+

Intensive networking and exchange during social activities

During this 2-day course, food law novices and junior practitioners will get the chance to learn and immediately apply the essentials of EU Food Law. High-profile lecturers from industry and private practice will familiarise the audience with the ins and outs of health & nutrition claims and food information law. Thanks to our highly practical workshops based on real-life scenarios, participants will be able – under the close supervision of our lecturers – to put their newly acquired knowledge into practice and develop in small groups e.g. own strategies and campaigns for their food product.

OBJECTIVES

Focusing on Health and Nutrition Claims and Food Information as the subjects which are nowadays at the core of the food industry, the Autumn College provides fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge thanks to a number of highly topical presentations and ample opportunity for Q&A. Following the “learning by doing” approach, each day will be concluded by a case study, where the participants will split up in small groups to actively discuss and present their solutions. This will allow for a practical understanding and the application of the issues discussed.

METHODOLOGY

Seasoned food professionals stemming from the industry, private practice and consultancy. For the case studies “tag teams” of 2 lecturers, who will be providing insight from both perspectives (consultancy & industry) will be operative. All lecturers will stay along for an entire day, so that they will also be available for taking questions outside the slots assigned to them.

NETWORKING & SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

The two days programme offers ample time for lively debates and exchange. Alongside the sessions, a number of social and leisure activities are planned, which provide perfect opportunities for informal exchange and networking in a pleasant atmosphere. On the eve of the course (26 March), a Food & Wine Tasting Session is organized, in order for all participants and speakers to get to know each other. On the evening of the first day (27 March), we meet an EU official, which offers not only the opportunity to informally and first-hand discuss food law issues, but also to have an exclusive insight into a European institution.
