ICONIC SA brand RAA, haverecently joined with Kapunda firmKBL Security to provide customerswith 24-hour monitoring and alarmresponse services.

The alliance is in line with RAA’sstrategic goal to provide betterservices to regional and countrycustomers says Neil McLean,senior manager, RAA SecureServices.

“Our Barossa customers can nowenjoy the benefits of monitoringand emergency response from ourcentre in Mile End, one of the mostsecure sites in Australia, coupledwith KBL’s 24/7 local alarmresponse,” Mr McLean said.

“The provision of securityservices requires high standards ofdelivery and trust - qualities thatare paramount for both RAA andKBL Security.”

Matthew Bouveng, co-owner ofKBL has been in security for 29years and his parents Robyn andPhil Bouveng started KBL in 1995.He says the alliance with RAAmeans he now offers morecustomers a complete securitypackage.

RAA and KBL’s top spring cleaningsecurity tips:

• Trim hedges and bushes so theyare well clear of doors and windows- they provide a great hiding placefor thieves and can also present afire hazard.

• While cleaning gutters and dustingwinter cobwebs, check the security ofthe doors and windows. Main doorsshould have dead-bolts as aminimum, and all accessible windowsshould be able to be secured.

• Items stored in sheds or garagesare easy targets and something assimple as a large padlock can deterwould-be thieves. Alarm systemscan be extended to include them.

• If you have home security, makesure security stickers are visible.Just ask your security company ifyou need more.

• Sensor lights are great forsummer barbecues and can also actas a deterrent for thieves.

• Clean your yard of all implementsthat could be used to break into yourhome, or as a weapon includingbrooms, shovels, tools and ladders.

• When you’re cleaning outside,take a look through the windowsand if you can see any valuables,make a note to move them.

• Change the batteries in yoursmoke alarm and make sure yourevisit your fire plan.
