TYPES OF DOORS

There are a variety of doors used at both industrialand commercial facilities. Each has its specificopening/closing mechanism. This Screen-Pro unithas been shipped with hardware to accommodate aWall Mounting Method on a plain doorway opening.It should be mounted on the interior wall centeredon the opening.

SCREEN-PRO COMPONENTS

It is recommended that two peopleinstall the door together.

The following tools will be neededfor installation:

• Carpenter’s Level (Min. 4’ Length)

• Carpenter’s Square

• Hammer Drill

• Masonry Drill Bit (For 3/ 8” Diameter Anchors)

• 3/ 8” Diameter and Various Wall Anchors

• Assorted Shim Stock

• Socket and Wrench Set

• Hand Tools

• Four Bar Clamps (36” Long)

• Two Ladders

• Forklift (Supplied by Dealer or Customer)

REQUIRED TOOLS

STEP 1

STEP 2

Lay the basic components in front of the doorway opening. Usingwork horses will make the assembly process easier although it isnot essential.

Slide the Brush Seal into the edge groove of the Brush Seal Bar.

STEP 3

Place the Guide Tracks on the horses with theGuide Flare Plate facing up.

NOTE: There is a left anda right Guide Track.

IMPORTANTThe Guide Track Flare Plate ships flat and must be bent out

11/2” before any assembling takes place.

Bracket Anchor Plates(4 to a side)

Slide the Bracket AnchorPlates into the guide channelthat is on the outside edge ofthe Track Guides. There are8 Anchor Plates, 4 for eachside on a 10' high door.

Place a Bracket Anchor Angle oneach Bracket Anchor Plate. The topAngle should be 4'' to 5'' from the topof the Guide Track The bottom Angleshould be 1/4'' from the bottom of theTrack. Also, place the Floor AnchorAngle on the bottom Bracket AnchorPlate. The remaining two Anglesshould be evenly placed between thetop and bottom Angles.

Place a Flange Nut on each AnchorPlate and hand tighten. Use a squareto make sure that each Anchor Angleis perpendicular to the Guide Trackand flush with the Wall Edge. Also,the bottom of the Floor Anchor Angleis flush with the bottom of the Track.Finally tighten each Flange Nut witha wrench.

Attach the Top Spreader Bracket to the top ofthe Guide Track using the Spreader MountingBracket. Make sure the back of the SpreaderAngle is facing down and toward the wall.

Use 2 bolts and flange nuts on each side tosecure all the components.

Place the 2'' Brush Seal Bar on top of the SpreaderBracket and center it. The brush bristles should befacing in and down. Mark each mounting hole on theSpreader Bracket. Remove the bar and drill smallholes.

Replace the bar and secure it with Self-TappingSheet Metal Screws.

STEP 7

Attach the Drum Brackets tothe top of each Track Guideusing 5/16'' x 1-1/4'' bolts withflange nuts. The square cradle(spring side) goes on the leftand the round cradle (bearingside) is on the right.

IMPORTANT: Use the bottomhole of each set of holes.

Using a helper, swing the assembly into place andcenter it on the doorway opening. The bottom ofthe Guide Tracks should be on the floor and theBracket Anchor Angles should be flush against thewall. Make sure that each Guide Track is plumb.Mark each of the holes including the Floor AnchorBrackets.

Remove the assembly and drill the holes. If the wallis concrete or cement block, a wall anchor will benecessary.

Then replace the assembly and secure it to thewall using lag screws.

WARNING The spring tension for the Roller Tube is pre-set at the factory and is shippedwith the Lock Plate in place. DO NOT remove the plate until the assemblyprocess is completed. Also DO NOT remove the Roll Ties until the Roll Tubeis secured to both End Plates.

Once the shaft is in bothcradles, place a CotterPin through the shaftand cradle to secure it(left side).

On the right side, placea bolt with a nut throughthe Top Mounting PlateHole to secure it to theCradle.

With the Spring Locking Clip tothe left and the Bushing/Bearingto the right and the Bottom Edgeof the Screen facing down, placethe shaft into the Cradles.

STEP 9

Then carefully cut the Roll Tieswithout cutting the screen. Slip thebottom edge of the screen into theGuide Tracks. Place the leadingedge in front of the Rubber Gasketto create a seal.

With the Screen Roller Drum in place,remove the Spring Locking Clip.

STEP 10

At this point the Screen Roller Drum must be leveled. The Drum Bracket Mounting Boltson one or both sides can be loosened and the drum can be accurately leveled.

The final steps are attaching the Rollover Straps and LockDown Straps.

STEP 11 STRAP PLACEMENT

NOTE: The “D” Rings, Pull Straps and Slide Handles areattached at the factory. Also, one end of the Rollover Straps isattached to the bottom of the screen.

Pull the screen down torelease the 2 Rollover Straps.A Slide is attached to eachstrap. Make sure the strapsare laying flat and not twisted.

Feed the strap through the Footman Loopthat has been pre-attached to the GuideTrack. Then take the strap back throughthe slide as shown in the illustration to theright. Adjust the strap so it is taut when thedoor is in the open position.

The purpose for Lock Straps is to hold thescreen in the down position. so the bottombar is touching the floor.

Once the Rollover Straps are set, pull the screen to the down position. Take the short Lock Straps with the SnapHooks on one end and snap the hook into the “D” Ring. Take the other end of the strap and pull it at a diagonalso the Strap Grommet is centered on the front of the Guide Track. Mark the hole. IMPORTANT: Place thescreen in the open position. Drill the Pilot Hole for the Tab Weld Nut (supplied). Next, place the screen in thedown position. Finally, with the Weld Nut on the inside of the Guide Track, secure the strap with the Bolt throughthe Strap Rivet.

NOTES

First, wind up the screen so itis completely on the RollerDrum. Using a strap or cord,secure the screen so it isunable to unwind. Place theLock Plate into the Drum Hub.

Next, remove the Cotter Pin onthe left side and the Lock Bolt/Nuton the right side. Lift the ScreenRoller Drum out of the DrumBracket cradles.

Drum totally stabilized,lock a Vise Grip onto theshaft. Keeping everythingin tension, remove theLock Plate. Turn the shaftclockwise one completeturn and replace theSpring Locking Clip.
