The Year was 1963. John F. Kennedy was president, the last of the Studebakers were rollingoff the Detroit assembly line, and “The Virginian” was among the more popular TV pro-grams. Here in Wantagh, the Wantagh Movies up on Jerusalem Ave was showing “TheBirds,” and Wantagh’s new library was almost 2 years old. It was also the year WilliamMotschwiller converted the old Wantagh Fire House near the railroad tracks, into what isnow one of the community’s oldest, oiginal-owner businesses: Wantagh Auto Body.
